Major Disappointment. Stopped in for the famous grouper sandwich and what a disappointment! The grilled grouper was not properly cooked as it was raw in spots. The sandwich was not any bargain at $11.95 with no sides, just a sandwich. Others in the party did not order since the building smelled heavily of mildew and was less than clean. The owner and waitress were not friendly at all. We should have sat outside to get rid of the horrific odor of the building. The original place was great, the food was good and reasonable but this place should be closed up and fumigated. We will go back to the Pub on Redington where the atmosphere is good, the food is reasonable and the staff is ultra friendly. Goodbye forever Dockside Dave's.

Good Stuff. I am lucky to live close by. Grouper sandwiches are amazing. You always have enough to take home. The sandwiches are like 3 regular sandwiches in one! The friendly and laid back staff is prompt. Food is to die for. If you are doing a beach day this is the perfect place to go when you get hungry!

Fresh Fish. The real Tampa Bay grouper sandwich. You can go to pricey, so called gourmet establishments that serve fish, but why bother when you can go to Dockside Dave's. The best way to enjoy fresh fish is the way they do it. The original battered and the blackened are perfect versions and not skimpy portions like some of the more well known pretenders serve. Not exactly a bargain at around $9.00 a sandwich, but when you consider how expensive black grouper is in the stores, it is well worth it. Large beer battered onion rings and waffle fries complement the meal. Spicy grouper chowder is actually spicy and is chili-like. Sometimes it takes a while to get your food but it is worth the wait.
