Editorial Review for Sirata Beach Resort & Conference Center – by Jane Bokun
In Short
It's one of the largest resorts in the area, but the Siarta still manages to remain quiet and peaceful. Many of the large rooms or suites face the beach area. Clean, sandy beaches and relaxing cabanas set this resort apart. There is a wide variety of restaurants and shops on the premises, along with several pools with tiki bars. Suites come with fully equipped kitchens, complimentary coffee, microwaves, private bedrooms and pull-out couches.

Insider Tips
ParkingMake sure you display your parking pass. If you don't, your car may be towed. Visitors to the Sirata pay an $5 parking fee if they are not guests.
Save MoneyBuy groceries off-site. The convenience stores located on the properties charge exorbitant prices.

Overall this is a fairly decent resort. It is NOT top quality, and is not on par with the Don Cesar (located about a mile down the beach)... it's also not nearly expensive. It's clearly pretty old, and wearing thin around the edges. The rooms need to be completely refurbished. The "little details" are sometimes there and sometimes missing: we had a brand new, beautiful shower curtain with the hotel logo on it, but the room rate card on the back of the bathroom door was scotch-taped up and falling off. A towel shelf had been removed, and you could see the marks on the wall where it had been. There were a lot of ugly, empty concrete hallways around the property. All that said, the staff clearly works hard on what they have. The rooms were spotless- housekeeping scrubbed them clean daily (and folded t-shirts we had left out). We had a wide variety of cable channels (the TV was old, but worked fine). There were staff members everywhere: cleaning, landscaping, scrubbing the fountains, handing out towels, etc... This isn't a "good morning, sir," type of resort--- it's a "hey dude" type of resort. Of course the real reason you're here is the beach, which is impressive. You move from the decks at their two bars to sand-dunes (where you can lounge in hammocks), and then onto the beach itself with cabanas and water sport rentals. I would definitely return on a visit to St. Pete's Beach!
Pros: Clean!!!! Great staff! Great location!
Cons: Aging property
