Despite its modest size, this property has long been popular with locals and folks looking for a weekend at the beach. The resort is located almost exactly where a main artery from St. Petersburg feeds into the Gulf of Mexico beach communities. It sits on a wide expanse of white sand, offering plenty of watersports and beach activities. Live entertainment and beachside dining at Sloppy Joe's draws a steady stream of regulars.

The Details
The emphasis here is on a casual stay. Accommodations include beachfront, efficiency and penthouse suites. Guest rooms include hair dryers, TVs with free HBO, electronic safes and individual climate controls. Room service, complimentary coffee, mini-fridges and microwaves round out drinking and dining options. There is also 5,000 square feet of meeting space, making the hotel a good place for meetings and weddings.

Best Hotel Around. This hotel is outstanding- they have completely remodeled everything & the servce is amazing too. The flat screen TV's are cool, the granite countertops, the comfortable beds are all great, but the beach is so wide open and beatiful too. We love it so much & want to tell eveyone to go visit. It well worth it- no wonder they call it Treasure Island. While we were the we found out they are converting it ti a condo-hotel which is even better! We can actullay BUY a unit, let them rent it out, & they will send us a check!! WOW!

old fashioned florida. SO MANY OF THE HIGH DOLLAR INCLUSIVE RESORTS LOST ALL OF THE TRUE FLORIDA VACATION EXPERIENCES. THE BILMAR HAD GREAT VIEWS FROM THE ROOMS AND OFFERED ENTERTAINMENT AND RESTAURANT. THE VALUE WAS EXCEPTIONAL. GREAT LOCATION ..WALKING DISTANCE TO ANYTHING YOU COULD REALLY NEED FOR THE OLD FASHIONED BEACH VACATION
