Editorial Review for Tradewinds Sandpiper Hotel & Suites – by Gayot.com
The Scene
Since guests here enjoy all the facilities at the adjacent TradeWinds Beach Resort, this standard Gulf-front hotel offers more than a standard experience. On-site there's an expansive pool and terrace often crowded with travelers from around the world. And locals mingle with international visitors on the white sand beaches. Since this hotel's intimate meeting facilities are often included in the neighboring resort's business packages, you're sure to see a few suits roaming around.
The Details
Not all of the 159 rooms have water views, but each is equipped with a wet-bar area with coffee maker, refrigerator, toaster and dishware. Additional amenities include TVs with free HBO and the Disney Channel, voice mail, data ports and a daily newspaper. Standard room service is augmented by offerings from Pizza Hut. Courtyard and beachfront venues are available for outdoor functions. The TradeWinds Resort is an easy five-minute stroll through nicely landscaped areas; there's a $12 resort fee on top of the room rate. Be sure to keep an eye open for the local landmark statue of a pod of white dolphins leaping out of the ground.

User Reviews for Tradewinds Sandpiper Hotel & Suites

The resort itself was beautiful and clean enough. Our issue was with the noise factor and the 2 beach bars right next door. They played music from 2p through 1a. It was like trying to sleep in a college dorm. There was constant drumming, base notes and screaming. There were also times on the beach where I could not hear the water due to the live music. It was not at all tranquil, as advertised. If you go, make sure your room is on the Tradewinds side of the resort, the noise didn't seem to be as much of a factor on that side. Management acknowledged the noise issue and state they get constant complaints about. It was not all worth the small fortune we paid to be there. Also, with $25/day resort ammenities fee, I thought they had gall to charge me $2 to print our boarding passes for our return trip home. Talk about nickel and diming.
Pros: views
Cons: noise
