WORST TRIP EVER, I WOULD RATHER GIVE BIRTH FOR 24 HOURS, THAN BE STUCK IN THAT SLUM FOR ANOTHER DAY OF MY LIFE. My husband and I decided to spend our anniversary at this motel, we looked online the pictures looked very pleasant and the rates were about average. Upon arriving we were greeted by a drunk guy, no shirt and no shoes. When he finally stopped watching YouTube to check us in he reeked of unprofessionalism and cigarettes. We put it all aside and entered our room eagerly. Upon entering the room, it looked as though several homeless men attempted to establish a headquarters for a meth lab, but were unsuccessful. So instead, these alleged homeless men looted the joint. What was left of the furniture appeared as though it hadn't been touched since the early 1990's. The room reeked of cigarette smoke, the towels felt like sand paper, and there was no soap. Never the less being the troopers that my husband and I are, we yet again powered through this obstacle. We left for a great evening on the town, upon returning to this Soup Kitchen (refer to Columbia Pictures' The Other Guys), they call the Windjammer Motel. We observed the owner along with the employees drinking in excess adjacent the poolside. These individuals were hooting and hollering all hours of the evening, I might add these creeps appear to live at the motel. Being our luck on this cherished day it began to rain, our romantic walk on the beach was cancelled, to compensate we attempted to enjoy an evening of HBO, SHOWTIME, and or STARS. All attempts met with negative results, because they didn't even have the one thing hotels are good for, FREE HBO! Oh yeah and the have German Cockroaches, yeah the ones impossible to exterminate. The place is under new management and ownership, don't consider any reviews prior to 2011.
Worst motel I ever stayed at. PLEASE TAKE THIS REVIEW SERIOUSLY!!!! We had the worst experience! We were only at the hotel for about 10 minutes when the problems started. We paid for 3 extra guess, but they were told they couldn
THE WORST EXPERIANCE EVER. OH MY GOD I HAVE NEVER BEEN LOCKED OUT OF MY PAID ROOM, YELLED AND THREATENED, AND ACCUSED OF HAVING UNPAID OVER NIGHT GUESTS. WE WERE CHARGED FOR THE NIGHT WHEN WE WERE THROWN OUT OF THE HOTEL, OUR GUESTS WERE CHARGED 10.00 A DAY AND NOT ALLOWED TO USE THE POOL. THERE WERE SIGNS EVERY WHERE OF RULES. THE OWNER PROWLS THE HOTEL, LOOKS IN YOUR ROOM AND HAS TO GO IN WITH PASS KEY.HOW WOULD ANYONE KNOW HOW MUCH LUGGAGE WAS IN OUR ROOM. MY DAUGHTER AND SON HAD ADJOINING ROOMS FOR SAT. NIGHT CHECKED OUT EARLY SUNDAY MORNING,BROUGHT THEIR LUGGAGE THROUGH THE ADJOINING ROOM TO US AND WHEN RETURNED THE KEY, PAID FOR VISITOR PASSES ON SUNDAY, THE INLAWS ALSO PAID FOR VISITOR PASSES. WE HAD ONE 8 WEEK OLD BABY. HOW MUCH LUGGAGE AND SUPPILES FOR MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND PLUS FOOD WOULD WE HAVE? WORST BEDS EVER....WORST EXPERIANCE STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO DO NOTHING ,BE WATCHED LIKE ITS THE GESTPO, AND GET THROWN OUT OF A 1950'S RUN DOWN HOTEL
One of the cleanest motels we ever stayed in. Just have to say there must be something wrong with the sandykay reveiw, this cannot be the same motel we stayed in. The owners were great and very helpful to my husband and I. The rooms were impeccable although some of the furniture is a bit dated, the beds were comfortable the the linens were clean. Gorgeous view of the beach right from our balcony. Other guest's we spoke to say they have been coming here for years and made us feel right at home. Plan on going back soon!
Clean, quiet, affordable on the beach.
My family likes small motels on the beach. We have stayed at the Windjammer a few times before and enjoy the location and price. The new owners (2 years) are extremely nice, make you feel welcome and enjoy talking about the area, and your stay. The rooms are clean. I can't imagine why anyone would write such a horrible review. Yes, this is an old motel, but that's what the West coast of Florida still has to offer. A taste of the way things were not so long ago. Small motel, on the beach at affordable prices. Staying in a high rise, is not my idea of being on the beach. I like the small intimate and personal feeling you get when staying at a small family owned motel.
I would recommend this motel, if you are looking for this type of accomodations. If you are the high rise, must be brand new, then don't stay here, you won't be happy. But if you are like my family and enjoy this type of atmosphere, then call now!
worst vacation ever. We booked and paid for three nights in thsi suite and only stayed two becasue it was so horrible. The room was DIRTY with old torn sofas. The ceiling was caving in, the couch cushions fell in when you sat on them, only one of the two rooms had air conditioning, the toilet wouldn't flush most of the time and the shower had no water pressure at all. The worst part was that the management/owners made you feel like uninvited guests and were constantly harassing you for no reason. We felt so unwelcome and the place was so horrible we left a day early.
