Fun, relaxing and layed back. The VIP is a locals joint located in a tourist area. Being directly across the street from a gorgeous beach, lost of customers are from out of town (like myself).

Once the staff gets to know you, it's a really enjoyable place to go. Adult beverage prices are more in line with a local's place than a tourist place.

I return to the VIP every time I get back to Treasure Island.

Terrible. We went to this bar and felt so disrespected by the bartenders. They yelled and screamed and were absolutely out of control. Do not go here, they will treat you as if you were there to serve them. I am a medical school student and consider myself to be very level-minded. However, I have never had such a terrible experience at a bar. I have nothing positive to say about the people who work here.

Bland bland bland. Service adequate but the food had absolutely no taste whatsoever..I have never experienced anything like this before...I was full but had no idea what I had eaten!!! Absolutely the wierdest food experience of my life...wouldn't reccomend this place to anybody

Good Food for sure. The service is terrible. All the servers and bardtenders run around acting very frantic and put out. I recommend take out.

Solid Mexican food. You'll get pretty decent Mexican food here in a bar setting. The service is sometimes slow, but the food is usually pretty good and the prices are decent. OK for the beaches.

Best Mexican Food on Beach 7 years running!!. The food is the best! The Margitas are strong, and the best! This place wins awards in both areas every year. As far as bad service, it is not corp. america, it is a very small place, that is busy all the time. Been in business for over 30 years. Maybe the 2 bad reviews should try to go in without a attuide, and be nice, and have some patience, and I am sure they will have a better experience. I am a regular at vip, and it is funny to sit and watch people get thrown out......because it is not Corp America! You will be sorry if you don't try the food! Chicago burito, and the Salsa is the best!!!!! But I have never had anything bad here. And the best Cheese burgers on the beach. Don't forget to come hungry, because the portions are hugh!

RUDE SERVICE ALWAYS!. I have been to this place about 5 times since I moved here....I will never go back. I have never, ever seen such a rude waitstaff in my life. They are consistent though - they have been rude every time. I can't believe anyone goes here - the wait staff is so rude it is actually laughable and can't believe the owner doesn't know it or lets them get away with it. They take forever to wait on you, act like it is a chore and usually get the order wrong. If you ask them to double check the to go bag for what you asked for (which so far has been wrong when I got home 3 times) they will look at you like they are going to take you out or something. I tip 30% and that doesn't even help. I really have never seen anything like it. You really should go, just for a laugh.

Whatever you do, don't ask for a receipt for take out. Honestly, if you are going to eat here, I would just go to Tijuana Flats instead. The food was decent, but not as memorable as the service received. Me and my friends ordered take-out and we live like 5 blocks away. Not only was the food mostly cool and soggy (didn' t taste great either), but when my friend went to pick it up and asked for a receipt, the woman working ripped off a blank tab from the bottom of the receipt she took the order on and told him, "it is what it is." So, if you want decent mexican and unnecessarily rude service, or you just wanna drink, this place would be great for you.

VIP - Authentic Mexican Cuisine. Excellent Salsa and Guacamole made fresh daily. Alot of mexican restaurants use canned salsa and guacamole that is shot out of a gun. VIP is hand-made! They also offer a wide range of mexican favorites such as fajitas, chimichamgas, tostadas, and their famous "wet burrito".
