nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. soup was most nice thai i have, spring roll was good we coming back soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great. This restautant is superb!! Try the Pad Thai or Peanut sauce. They make it spicy to your taste, mild, medium or hot. I cannot say enough!!!!!
Thai?. We are from Atlanta and this was the most bland Thai food that we have had. Our spring roll was ok, my soup was not good (way too much lemongrass), our Crazy Chicken was high in curry but low in flavor and my Sweet and Sour Chicken was no more than chicken sauteed in a pan with a bland sweet sauce. Service was slow. Took a while to greet us and my water glass was empty for a while before they refilled it and was only refilled once. They did, however, offer us a different entree in place of the Crazy chicken. We declined because they didn't offer until we were long past ready for our check. They did give us a complementary dessert. The dessert was very good and arrived quickly. There is a Thai place downtown near Baywalk that we like better and will go to next time.
Unremarkable in size, location and décor, its claim to fame is its excellent fresh Thai fare..
The Scene
Picture a nondescript section of St. Pete; a typical oriental restaurant--wood-paneled walls and simple wooden tables without cloths; stems of fresh orchids provide a wild purple and yellow rainbow to tables set very close together.
The Food
It's typical Thai, but so fresh, fresh, fresh--and expertly prepared.
What to Order
You won't find anything bad on the restaurant's extensive menu. Start with the tofu soup, a winsome broth with crunchy veggies, tofu and mushrooms. Also enjoyable--the Double Delight: shrimp and chicken prepared with baby corn, mushrooms, onion and snow peas; the veggies "snap" when you bit into them; the sauce is a complex mixture of chilis and spice that's just hot enough. And any one of the lunch specials is a treat and a bargain. And please do order dessert: Fried ice cream with raspberry sauce, a ball of cold ice cream fried in a "skin" and topped with sauce, is outstanding.
Great Local Find. The service we received at SIAM Garden was excellent! Everyone was very friendly, very accomodating and each course was served in a very timely fashion. The food was very fresh, prepared very quickly, and was quite good. The decor was typical of a small neighborhood oriental restaurant. Definitely a restaurant my family will return to.
best in the bay. I have visited plenty of thai restaurants and Siam Garden on 9th street is by far the best thai restaurant I have ever been to. The food is authentic, VERY tastey and easy on the wallet.
