Disappointing ribs, average sides, and expensive.... The ribs were small, very overcooked, and had hardly any smoke flavor. The sides were average at best -- fried green tomatos that were greasy and a cajun potato salad that was nothing special even though the cashier recommended it.

At more than $11 for 1/2 slab of ribs (6), two sides, and iced tea I consider Butler's ribs less than average at a more than average price. And the $11+ price is for the $8.95 Wednesday rib special, usually they are $2 more.

If you really like ribs, try Jazzy's BBQ on Waters Ave in Tampa. In comparison, Jazzy's ribs are big, meaty, and have an excellent crust and good smoke flavor. Although they can be a little fatty sometimes.

This is Eastern NC BarBQ at its best!!. Wednesday is ribs day and Chopped Pork BarBQ sandwiches the rest of the time. I like Jimbo's in Tampa too, but this is better. Granny Bulter geets me each time like family, Lex is doing the cooking, his wife is the bar maid, and Brit is the cashier. The hush puppies are the best I've had in the area. There may be a line to order at lunchtime, but the wait is well worth it. Great taste and great value. I am from NC. The BarBQ sauce is lightly embedded in the pork so you have to shoot some more on of their own sauce, and it is great. Eastern NC is vinegar based and tangy and you might have to warm up too it some, but you WILL come back again for more. Bring your appetite.

From NC. I am a NC native and love the fact that I can find what I am used to right here in FL. I love the location to our home. The owners, Rex and Lynne, are wonderful people. They always make sure everything is ok and you are satisfied with the food. I have never left Butler's unhappy. They are also very child friendly! I find that very important in a restaurant. I give them a 10!

NORTH CAROLINA'S FINEST!!. Excellent BBQ prepared the way it was intended - NC STYLE !! Butler's does an excellent job by offering a huge menu covering many different palletes. Among the crowd favorites are pulled pork BBQ, Hushpuppies, Brunswick Stew, and a very refreshing Cheerwine beverage to wash it down. A must try for BBQ lovers as well as hungry people--Imagine that.

Yummy!. Butler's is delicious! Granted, it helps to like pork, but they have chicken dishes, too. My favorite is the pork tray - marinated pork with THE BEST hush puppies I have ever had. Try their homemade BBQ sauce - it's tasty. Also delicious is the homemade sweet tea and sangria. It's locally owned, family run, North Carolina home cookin' with friendly service and casual (and clean) atmosphere. Try it!
