The Scene
Outside are pretty tables protected by umbrellas, which face the big park across the street. Inside, the restaurant is a classy British colonial-style tavern that offers excellent Indian and British fare.
The Food
Curry dishes are rather rare in the Bay Area, but Moon Under Water does them very well: not too hot, not too bland. The chef adds vegetables--summer squash and eggplant--to the soupy beef to make it more interesting. Served atop basmati rice, it's an inspiring mix of crunchy and soft textures, spicy and bland. The Greek salad is fresh and served in a heaping portion. Try the peanut butter pie--a swath of smooth, peanut filling enmeshed in a perfect chocolate cracker crust. Fabulous.

Nice setting, nice place. But bad service and not very good food spoilt it for me. If I am around one day and need food badly, I may go and try again, but there are many good places to eat in SP that were better.

I am guessing people who say that have never tasted a good curry, because theirs are terrible! The only reason the place is open is because of its location. If it was down to the fact that it was meant to be an authentic British pub, curry and service, it would have gone down the pan years ago. The staff have always been appalling.

Small traditional English pub in downtown St. Pete. Sit outside and you can see the water at the Pier. We both got a curried chicken dish with a Guiness- perfect together! Nice relaxed atmosphere and great, home cooked meals. Priced very nice!
