Perched above a pretty 10-foot waterfall that adjoins the Vinoy's lavish pool deck, Alfresco provides an inviting spot to hang when it's hot. It's also an attractive, casual alternative to the hotel's more formal dining rooms. The classy bar and comfy tables are lit by generous windows and skylights.

The Food
The emphasis is on fresh, local produce and seafood prepared with Caribbean spices and tropical flair. Start with a fruity Rum Runner or pineapple smoothie. The crab cake appetizer with black bean relish and Key lime tartar is excellent. The lemon pepper pasta with shrimp, clams and spicy tomato broth zings. Don't skip dessert--the rice pudding with cilantro sauce is dynamite.
