Tampa >Don Pablo's
Margaritas and affordable Mexican fare in a campy, family-friendly atmosphere..
Bright colors and big booths make this quick-service, sit-down Mexican restaurant a cheery choice for group outings. The traditional menu--including classic enchiladas, soft and crispy tacos, mesquite-grilled shrimp, sizzling fajita platters and made-from-scratch salsas--features lunch specials, create-your-own combinations and to-go options for more fast-paced patrons. Tequila makes its appearance in house margaritas and cocktails. Bringing the little ones? They're catered to with a kid-friendly, Tex-Mex menu.
for a chain its not bad. I like this place the happy hour beers the big portions campy Tex mex decor. Family friendly and Cheap. Fajitas are good. Having lived in the greatest city in Mexico for years- El Paso. its not bad.
GREAT MARGARITAS...WONDERFUL FAJITAS.... THIS RESTAUANT IS NOT AS BAD AS EVERYONE ELSE PUT IT OUT TO BE...THEY ARE A FEW UPSET CUSTOMERS...I THINK THAT IT IS AVERAGE...GREAT MARGARITAS...WONDERFUL FAJITAS...IF YOU ARE EXPECTING SOME NICE FANCY MEXICAN RESTAURANT...YOU ARE GOING TO THE WRONG PLACE...IT IS CASUAL...FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT...I FOR ONE, LIKE IT...AND THEY DO TAKE RESERVATIONS BY THE WAY...FOR A BIG EVENT...I HAVE HAD A COUPLE PARTIES THERE AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS RESERVING...HOPE YOU ARE NOT DISAPOINTED LIKE THE OTHERS...
How Do You Screw It Up. I have been there several times and each time is more disappointing than the last. Somehow, they manage to screw up every dish. The vegetables are virtually uncooked and they come in huge chunks....like it would kill the cook to slice and dice a bit! Yuck! The last time I sat at a table at the bar it took over 1/2 hour to get a glass of water. How do you screw up Tex Mex? Taco Bell is way better!
Everything average except. Everything average except their molten chocolate cake dessert. The taste is of quality chocolate, with a hint of a Mexican touch (cinnamon) - a very unusual offering for non-gourmet restaurants. I have gone all the way out there just for this dessert.
Inconsistent. Don Pablos does has good fajitas, but the compliments end there. I've never seen a place that could screw up chicken enchiladas, but they manage to. They've gotten very "Tex-Mex" with their menu and the food quality is inconsistent. I have been there multiple times after 10 PM (on a Friday or Saturday, when they are supposed to be open until 11) and been refused service. The staff is generally pretty blase about their job and don't offer very good service.
