The Best Sandwiches in Tampa. I absolutely Love Schillers the people there are always pleasant and the sandwiches are amazing my favorite is the ham and american on pumpernickel with light mayo its so simple but it really is great i think its the freshness and quality of the ingredients that make it so good I've tried to just make it at home but it doesn't compare by a long shot to the quality of their food

The best deli in Tampa. Schiller's is one of the oldest delis in Tampa. The deli was opened by the Schiller family in 1952 and has been owned and operated by the Trunk family for the past twenty-three years. There are a few shelves of German foods and a German beer section in the back of Schiller's, but the main attraction at the little place is clearly the deli and its long list of German sandwiches, sides, and homemade apple streuel.

We own a restaurant (Pinky's Diner) and the the go-to sandwich place for my husband and I (aside from our own restaurant, of course!) is Schiller's, all the way.

You've probably driven past this restaurant dozens or hundreds of times, and maybe never noticed it. But once you step inside to eat, you'll return again and again.. The Scene
Simple, tidy, Schiller's has been one of the best German delis in the area since 1951. Its biggest claim to fame is probably the fresh, homemade breads--pumpernickel, rye, wheat--which you can then top with fine meats and cheeses to make some of the most delicious sandwiches in the city.

The Food
Stocked on its shelves are imported items that are hard to find in this country: German and Swiss chocolate, condiments, cookies, pickles and various types of German beverages and beers.

Please don't skip dessert. The handmade apple strudel, flaky pastry crusted over a cinnamon-y, soft filling and dusted with powdered sugar, is just out of this world.
