Kobas Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar2402 S Macdill Ave, Tampa, FL | Directions 33629
27.923636 -82.493325They've relocated: 3428 Tampa Rd, Palm Harbor, 727-772-KOBA(5622). Sad they've moved from Tampa - the new store is little smaller than the former premises but they serve the same kick a.. Sushi! They are, with no doubt, the one & only authentic Sushi Bar that I can go to in the Tampa Bay Area. I must say, if you don't like Sushi served at Koba's, then you'd prob. never like it anywhere else. Koba is a former Sushi chef of New York's reknown Sushi bar Hatsuhana(my old fave), always serves the best Sashimi & Sushi with pride. What he serves are a true art of his craftsmanship and experience. Although I can recommend anything from either Sushi Bar to regular menu, my personal faves are Tuna Tataki, Spicy Tuna Roll, and Volcano. Here's my 2c, 1)for those who LOVE Spicy Tuna Roll, make sure to clearly state "SPICY". Otherwise you'd get a plain simple Tuna Roll. I know it sounds rather silly but I've learnt that some customers complained that Spicy Tuna Roll being spicy...??, 2)For Sushi beginners, you can mention that to either Koba or Mikki(or waitress) when ordering. As long as your request is not too much of substitution, they are usually willing to accommodate your likes/dislikes.
"home made" sushi. Koba is an artist when it comes to sushi. Not only is the fish amazingly fresh but the presentation is unparalelled. He is extremely talented. The rainbow roll is the best I've ever had. We try new things each time we visit and are consistently pleasantly surprised.
Best Sushi and Sushi Cef in Tampa Bay!. Mr. Koba is a skilled sushi chef and a pleasure to watch. He is very entertaining and very attentive to his customers.
Yummy. Best Sushi in town! The spicy crawfish and bye bye rolls make me come back for more - weekly! Koba is pure entertainment and loyal to his customers. The service can be slow at times but worth the wait!
Koba's is the best!. I have been to many sushi restaurants from Tampa to NYC, and I have to say that Koba's is my favorite! The sushi is always wonderful and well worth it. Koba and Keiko (his wife) are always entertainment. My favorite is the sashimi and the Bye-Bye roll. The Deep Fried Tuna roll is excellent, too. Thanks to all my friends at Koba's for all of my EXCELLENT Friday nights!
