Did not rebuild transmission as promised.. In Feburary 2011 I took my car to Tuffy for a transmission rebuild. They assured me that the transmission would be rebuilt and would have upgraded parts. I asked if the 4th gear hub would be replaced since that was the weak area in the transmission. They assured me that it would be. They had a warranty of 12 months or 12,000 miles whichever occurs first. I started having issues with the transmission and I called and was advised since I am 2,000 miles over there was nothing they could do. I took my car elsewhere and was advised that the part was NOT replaced and caused another failure. Before you flame me I do understand the warranty but since I was such a loyal customer and have had other work performed there they should have helped me out. I will NEVER go there again.

Trustworthy, fast, women are treated fairly. I have used this Tuffy for service through two different managers now for tire replacement, tire rotation, brake pad replacement, and regular oil changes. The service is consistently friendly, honest and I do not feel taken advantage of as a woman who knows little about auto repair. I have even double-checked their analyses with a relative who does know auto repair and he has agreed with their recommendations.

Example-I had a tire I thought was out of balance. It was a tire that was only about six months old and I took the car to them for re-balancing. They discovered the tires were in balance, but that one had a defective "hop". They were very clear that they did not want to try and sell me a new tire becuase the one with the "hop" was still good, it just made the annoying vibration. They rebalanced all of my tires, moved the defective one to a position where the vibration would be least noticable and didn't charge me anything. That kind of service is rare these days!!

I wanted to post a review because I only just recently moved to the Tampa Bay area and have relied heavily on these reviews to make good decisions as a consumer. Hope mine helps someone else out there!
