Tampa >Sam Seltzer's Steakhouse
New Place. It is now Landers steakhouse.
This chain has closed down. All Sam Seltzer's Steakhouse locations are now closed.
AWESOME PLACE!! MAKE A RESERVATION!.
The one on Dale Marby is good. We go all the time. Good Prices and seated quickly.
also, it's open late! which is great!
My family went to the Sam Seltzer's in Brandon, FL to celebrate my mother's birthday. What a celebration.
Even with reservations made days beforehand, it took over 30 minutes to be seated. Once seated at table, the service was so slow and terrible that it took over 1 and a 1/2 hours to actually get our food. 2 of the 3 children in our party fell asleep during that time. Parties that were seated after us were served before us.
When the food did arrive, it certainly was not worth the wait. When we called the manager to the table, he briefly apologized, had no explanation for the horrendous service, and never offered to lower the bill. We will never go to Sam Seltzer's again.
BAD SERVICE. DONT KNOW ABOUT THE FOOD. IT NEVER SHOWED UP.. ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO, I WENT THERE WITH MY WIFE AND TOLD HER "NEVER AGAIN". THE STEAK WAS TO TOUGH. BUT BECAUSE MY WIFES GRANFATHER WANTED TO TAKE US THERE, WE HAD NO CHOICE AND HAD TO GO. THIS VISIT BY FAR, WAS ONE OF THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD. NORMALLY I WALK OUT OF A RESTAURANT AFTER 5 MINUTES IF THE WAITER HASNT TAKEN AT A MINIMUM A DRINK ORDER. THE ONLY REASON I DIDNT WAS MY WIFES GRANFATHER. 20 MINUTES AFTER BEING SEATED, WE PLACE OUR DRINK ORDER. 10 MINUTES AFTER THAT WE ALL ORDERED THE ALL YOU CAN EAT SHRIMP AND WE WERE TOLD IT WOULD BE OUT IN A MATTER OF MINUTES SINCE SHRIMP COOKS SO QUICKLY. AN HOUR LATER WE WERE STILL WAITING FOR THAT SHRIMP. THE WORST PART WAS THE WAITER TOLD US HE HAD TALKED WITH THE MANAGER AND THAT THE MANAGER WAS GOING TO COME OVER AND TALK TO US. 2 MINUTES LATER HE WALKED RIGHT ON BY LIKE IT WAS BUSINESS AS USUAL. AT THAT TIME MY WIFE GOT HIS ATTENTION AND TOLD HIM WE WERE OUTTA HERE. WE DID GET A GOOD LAUGH OUT OF IT THOUGH. IT WILL BE FOREVER REMEMBERED AS THE SAM SELTZERS ALL YOU "CANT" EAT SHRIMP SPECIAL. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Best deal in the area.
Long time resident, first time customer. From front door to dining rooms to rest rooms, PERFECT. Very good service by new wait person named Leo, manager paid a visit to table.
One of the best meals of 'Roast of Lamb with ribs' I ever had. Perfect salad ( made for me, my way ), excellent baked potatoe, and great coffee came with our SUPER deserts.
Will now be a regular, steady customer. Thank you Sam

Way too busy to get it right....
Went to one of the Seltzer steakhouses after hearing good reviews. Table location at the end of the bar, foot traffic was terrible. Table dirty. I actually witnessed the bus help dry an adjacent table with the wrapped silverware napkin after he set the table for the next customer. That means someone was wiping their mouth with a napkin wet from the washing prior.
I ordered a Prime rib cut, 1 pound. I was served an 8oz rib eye. I would probably eat here again if all of the local McDonalds close down. In all honesty though, I complained via the net, and they sent a 25.00 gift certificate to "make nice". Not bad for a 100.00 meal for three.
Avoid like the plague.
good but not the best steakhouse but a great deal for the price with there specials. as for lobster or crab rolls here sams has 2 strikes on it a steak house and second it in tampa not new england coast so whle sams can do a good lobster which is easy to make stay away from the other seafood as if you want good sea food go to at least go to places near docks over in clearwater beachs and south. also a good hint never get a steak in a crab shack and never get seafood in a steak house. this rule is true even in NY were overall the best food in the country can be found now that new orleans has be kind of knocked out of the running. as new orleans and new york had the over all best food in the country not saying you can get great food else were as the southwest has great texmex it lacks in other types and the same is true in new england great seafood but but again found lacking in other types.
Awful Meal. My wife and I tried the Brandon location. Everything was great except part of the meal. We had prompt service, and thought we received a lot of food for the price. My wife had the Happy Hour Prime Rib special which was great. I decded to try their Lobster Seafood roll. Being from New England, I've had many lobster rolls, so I know a good lobster roll when I taste one. The one at Sams Seltzer's was the absolute worst one I've every had! They mix the lobster/seafood salad with a vinegar base sauce. All you taste is the vinegar and no lobstrer at all. That is like putting mustard on a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. Just awful. We have eaten at Sams several times in other locations and have always hhad a good meal. I'll never get the lobster/seafood roll again.
User review by tinic3. I highly recommend the Brandon Town square Sam Seltzer's over the others. They have a better menu, large open seating and the food and coffee was much better. I recently tried the Dale Mabry location because I was so impressed with Brandon. But I have to say I would only go back to DM for the main course and our waiter was very helpful with steak selection. The staff at DM is more mature and better suited for a buisness dinner. Both are great and very classy. But Brandon will always have a warm stop in my belly.
