I have been looking for a place for my mother for over 4 months, when someone told me about Lakeshore Villas. Upon my arrival I was greeted with a huge smile. A happy young lady at the front desk was very eager to help me and called someone to give me a tour. A young man came and greeted me. He was very pleasant and very informative of the services they could provide my mother if she needed it. We walked past the nurses station and everyone was very nice. He then took me to the therapy department and there were lots of things going on there, yet the therapist still made a point to smile or wave at me. I meet the therapy director and she was very helpful. He then told me of their pediatric unit that they have in the building and that just touched my heart. When then toured a memory loss building and the people were so happy. The building was clean and smelled so nice. The young man then took me over to the Inn where he introduced me to the administrator. This man was very helpful as well. He gave me a tour of the builiding. They have a library, a restuarant style dinning room, a game room, an activities room, and a movie room. I want to live here I told the man. He showed me the different apartments they had and they were very clean, and felt like home. The prices are very reasonable. He then took me to the indoor pool and outpatient therapy. He said that if my mom needed any therapy that she could just come right out her back door and if it required more serious therapy then she could go to the other building then return back to her apartment. I fell in love with this place and their staff. I am happy to say that we are in the process of moving my mom in her new apartment. I know that it is a long hard and emotional road but I would highly recommend Lakeshore Villas for anyone looking to place a loved one.

My mother resided here for two years and it was overall a terrible experience. Poor supervision of staff, extremely poor food, poor bookkeeping (several of my bills were incorrect and were adjusted in my favor). Poor paperwork management (could not find my mother's lease at renewal time. Finally found it in the bottom drawer of an empty file). Services promised were not delivered (if a CNA was out sick and it was my mother's day for a bath, she simply didn't get a bath). I suggest you keep looking. My mother uses a walker and could hardly get into the bathroom it is so small. When she went to a wheelchair it became impossible.

Pros: some good staff

Cons: bad administrators, no wander locks, poor food service
