AWFUL. My experience here was awful. I went for my wedding trial for hair and hair for my wedding day and manicures and pedicures over 3 days-- and they messed up the scheduling and payment of all of them. I even called between appointments to say this mistakes were made and to make sure they wouldn't happen again--but they seemed to get worse with each visit. Not to mention that my hair did not look good. Thanks for nothing, Level 2 Salon.
Level Salon (Aveda) in Hyde Park is the best salon in the Tampa Bay area ...that's why I go there.
I wouldn't drive one hour each way if this salon was not the best!
What makes it the best? First of all, I am very picky about my hair color, style and what products I put on them. No one can believe that I have grey hair under my beautiful blonde mane. Alicia artistically designs my hair color w/ highlighting that gives it a very natural look. The Aveda products are all natural and environment friendly which is important to me. To top it off, when Alicia washes my hair, she also gives me a relaxing & moisturizing hand massage.
As I said, i am really picky about my hair style. Martha is the best!. I have naturally curly hair which I also like to wear straight sometimes. So my hair style has to be cut so that it looks good either way. You would never know that I have collicks and frizzy hair without my perfect cut and the Aveda products. and trust me, I have gone to a lot of salons in my life and I was never this happy before.
All of the hair specialists that work there are professional, friendly and talented.
As an architect, I appreciate the modern & zen-like architecture and ambiance. Very chic but also sophisticated.
A very classy & pampering hair salon!
Great facial!. I want to recommend Lindsay at Level2 Salonspa in Hyde Park. I just had the best facial I've ever had. She has an amazing touch from the foot bath to the peppermint shoulder rub, the entire experience was very relaxing! I left feeling so refreshed. I recommend this salon to anyone looking for an experience not just a treatment.
Relaxing Experience at Level 2 Salonspa. I recently had a very relaxing experience at Level 2 Salonspa just before the holidays. This was my first visit with Alisha who updated my color in time for the holidays. What a wonderful experience! Alisha was so pleasant and very talented. My color came out great and I recieved lots of compliments over the holidays. Level 2 Salonspa is a very relaxing, guest oriented spa. I was treated to a cool refreshment and a great hand massage. I would recommend this spa to everyone. They have a great selection of Aveda products and a very knowledgeable staff to help you make your selections. I signed up for their e-mail notifications and received some great notices of holiday specials. I look forward to returning to Level 2 in the near future.
In Praise of Level 2 Salon. I drove nearly two hours for a haircut at Level 2 Salon in Old Hyde Park Village...and it was worth every mile! I've been a resident of FL for nearly eight years and have had one disappointing haircut after another. Finally I have discovered Josh who is an amazingly talented stylist! Very cutting edge! The salon is stylish and the staff courteous and professional. I recommend Level 2 Salon to all who value excellence in hair design.
HAIR GONE BAD. I have always in the past had great hair cuts at this salon but my last experience has turned out to be a nightmare. I requested a perm. I asked for loose curly perm. At first the stylist was going to use spiral rods but didn't even have enough for my hair. Therefore rolled my hair with perming rods instead. After rolling my hair he poured the solution on hurriedly and I wore the solution all over me even on the front of my jeans. Then he just left me to just drip. Another stylist came over to help dry me off and change me into another dry gown. My hair came out part curly and part staight and the frizziest mess I have ever had. And for those loose curls, the perm came out with tight curls. I am so embarresed of my hair now and don't know what to do. I have been pulling my hair back in a pony tail to hide the mess.
I've never had more people ask me where I got my haircut....
It's hard to choose a new stylist when you've outgrown your last and it's time to move on, however, change is good!
In January I did a simple search to find nearby salons and their new location in Hyde Park Village came up first, being 0.2 miles away at the former Alan Ledo location in Hyde Park Village (which I'd been to). I didn't think they could have improved the interior as it was already a beautiful salon but I was shocked - it was even better! it's reminiscent of an upscale full-serivce salon you'd find in bigger cities like NYC or LA. Much better interior design and more sophisticated than before. The service was absolutely impeccable. As a guest I've never been treated so well, end-to-end, by everyone in the entire salon - regardless of whether or not I was there to see them. Customer service is obviously paramount here. Everyone was extremely friendly and introduced themselves personally on my first visit.
And to make it all the better, I've received the best haircuts I've ever had in my life, my stylist took her time - but her attention to detail showed. Every strand fell perfectly and the QUALITY of the haircut was unsurpassed. I'm talking "runway" quality. She wouldn't let me out of the chair until it was absolutely perfect. For the first time, and for comparable rates to other local upscale salons, I felt as if I had been taken care of like a celebrity. I've been here for 17 years, so yes, I've been to almost every salon worth it's salt in Tampa and have the experience to make comparisons.
I honestly, have never had so many strangers walk up to me in public and ask where I got my haircut. (One woman even said she was willing to drive from Clearwater). I'm moving out of state next month and I will continue to be a client even if my haircuts turn out to be $500 with airfare....because it will actually look like a $500 haircut, besides that the level of professionalism and treatment is priceless.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE AVEDA LEVEL2 SALON!!!
Disappointment guaranteed. Not so great. I went to this salon last week based on the better reviews it received and close to my home. I suppose I should have re-read the bad reviews. I was placed with an inexperienced person who did a lousy haircut and the color was so-so. She had to keep checking with someone on everything she did which made me nervous. I was not told she was new to doing hair, and the price was outrageous. I think I will stick with my regular person.
Not good at all. Unprofessionalism: This is nothing to do with a bad haircut or other service; moreover, an unfriendly staff and uncooperative management. Zaggat would rate this a 1 for service. If that.
