Great Service, Great Hair.
For the last three years, I have been a patron of New Identities in Tampa Palms. I first went by recommendation, and I was so satisfied that I kept returning. My grandparents were professional stylists and until I was in my early 20s, I never paid for a haircut, color, up-do, or basic head wash. I had all of the benefits of knowing exactly what good salon service and product is like without the cost.
When I started going to New Identities, I saw all of the good things I remembered from being with my grandparents.
The shop is clean; hair that has recently been cut is promptly swept away at a station as soon as the client goes to the front desk. Brushes, combs, and scissors are sterilized in barbicide. The staff is knowledgeable about the Redkin products they use and sell, in addition to the ongoing training they receive about new cutting, styling, and coloring techniques. Everyone is friendly, and my stylist, Katie, always offers me a beverage to relax and enjoy my time there.
I absolutely have no complaints about the salon. I've recommended it and Katie many times over. Each of my friends has consistently come back to tell me that they enjoyed the experience. Several of them have also become regulars (including my husband who sees Katie every 6 weeks).
I agree with the first reviewer that the 1 star reviewer was being unfair. When receiving a new hair cut or color, articulation is key. Clearly by the standard of writing, something was lost in translation. It's unjust to blame a stylist for poor services rendered if specific desires and dislikes cannot be communicated at the time.
I would highly recommend New Identities Salon.
Best Salon in Tampa - highly recommended.
After reading the listed comment, I felt compelled to submit a comment of my own, as a loyal customer of this amazing salon. The previous comment about New Identities Salon was reckless, unfair, un-reasonable, and very mis-leading to your readers! This seemingly unsophisticated person (with obvious issues) complained about the $50 price tag - for additional hair color services. Normally, if I ordered something extra (an appetizer) at an upscale restaurant, I would undoubtedly expect to be billed for that additional item, as any reasonable person would, right? If you were to peel the onion (so to speak), it boils down to what peoples time is worth. As a business owner, unfortunately the customer IS NOT always right, and there are always 2-sides to every story!
The salon literally serves thousands of loyal and satisfied guests per month, and has consistently exceeded my personal expectations every step of the way! They are entrusted with being the official salon of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders squad (for 3 years now, so I hear), have had national television exposure, and they do a ton of charitable work in the community; according to the articles I read about them in the newspapers. Besides that, and most importantly, I have never been happier with my hair!! Everyone I know raves about New Identities Salon, and strangers have literally approached me in public to compliment me about my hair (no lie)! The friendly New Identities staff has always treated me with the utmost respect, and has provided me (and my family) with world-class hair services time and time again. There must be hundreds of salons in the Tampa bay area, and in my opinion, this one is the best..hands down! Beautiful eclectic & vibrant upscale atmoshphere, complimentary glass of wine, clean facility, great-looking staff, a metro feel, and overall superior service. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SALON TO EVERYONE I KNOW, and to anyone reading this review.
My hair looks terrible.
I explained that I needed a change and that I prefered a light shade since I needed a change (just had a baby) When I was done an orange very thick highlight in front of my hair and the rest of it was black.
Lack of listening skills as you can see and no time to fix it, then the color lasted a week, it faded I was very unhappy so I went back to get it fixed, she was a little puzzled but she went ahead and added more orange highlights which I don't like and at the end she comes and wants to charge me $50.00 will never go back and I will never recommend this place to nobody. I can not say that any of the stylist are worth and same day I was there another lady came in complainig but abotu her haircut...it was awful.
