You've Got the Look – University Mall was just the second major mall in Tampa, built in the early '70s and originally called University Square Mall. Time was in danger of passing it by when it closed for extensive renovations a few years ago and reopened with its streamlined name. The most horrifyingly dirty mall....

This mall should be condemed. The hallways smell like dirty mold, and there are very few major retailers left. The existing stores are made up up urban club wear and zoot suit retailers with names like Mr. Man and Glam. Make sure you are armed if you choose to go on the weekend, because robberies and shootings are common. Check the news, it's right in the middle of Tampa's only real g*etto. Even their anchor stores know better than to stay.....Macy's, Dillard's and JC Penney have all began the process of moving to a better area. If you want a good shopping experiance, check out Hyde Park, Citrus Park Town Center or International Plaza.
