Really neat place. We went to the new Mr. Dunderbak's on Bruce B Downs on Friday night. It was pretty early, around 5pm, and it was packed! I hadn't been to the previous location, but my husband had. He said this new version is much better, and much bigger. There was an older gentleman playing the accordion and singing, but we couldn't really hear him from where we were sitting. The little store was neat to look around. I picked up some herring for my dad. The liter beers were fabulous. They had a lot to chose from. The only problem was that someone needs to work on the beer list. People like to know their choices and what they mean. Especially, when it's all German beer. They need a list that specifies a dark from a wheat, etc. The food was great. The pork jager schnitzel was really good. The spatzle didn't have a ton of flavor, but I'm used to my mother-in-law's version, fried in butter. My husband loved his dish. Comfort food, without a doubt. Just an all around neat place. Can't wait to go back.

Best Beer Garden in town. Mr. Dunderbak's is truly the gem of Tampa. If you are looking for a place to be welcomed and taught about the in's and out's of beer by people who are not judgemental or complete beer snobs then this is the place for you. Hidden in the University Mall, Mr. Dunderbak's will welcome you with open arms and provide you with great food, beer and company.

A HOME BREW CLUB MEETS THERE EVERY 1ST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH., THEY WON BEST BEER CLUB IN THE STATE!!! THIS SHOULD BE LISTED UNDER GERMAN RESTAURANTS BECAUSE THEY HAVE SCHNIZLE, SAURBRATEN, HAND PACKED WURST, ROULADEN, GULASCH. iT GERMAN, BUT HAS A FULL DELI WITH TRIPLE DECKER SANDWICHES AND AMERICAN FOOD, THEY HAVE BEEN MAKING FOR 30 SOME ODD YEARS!!!
