1950s diner fries up fast-food classics 24 hours a day.. In Short
Entering the clean, bright interior is like stepping into an "Archie" comic book. Hurrying across white- and black-checkered floors, staff in crisp white shirts and paper hats take orders, polish chrome and shuffle between booths and the full-service counter. Middle-American diner standards dominate the menu--pickle-covered steak burgers, chili cheeseburgers and thick shakes. Healthier options include chicken, chef and taco salads.

great for a midnight snack. steak n shake is great because everything is made to order and thats all you really need to order off the menu anyway, a steak n shake. they have the best hamburgers in the south and their milkshakes can't be beat.

Cold service cold burgers. My intelligence was insulted when I was given the old bait and switch! I placed my order for a hot juicy burger and I got a cold flat disc with cheese. When I placed my order the cook gave me a burger that had been sitting on a tray for God knows how long and when I asked for a freshly cooked burger. I got the same burger placed on the grill, heated up and given right back to me like I couldn't see that there was no burgers on the grill. Ironically, I was sitting at the counter and watched him do the whole bait and switch! When he gave me the burger again with the new fries I was so upset I just paid for my drink and left. Sometimes you just want a hot burger and no tricks. I will never eat at this location again! By the way, I still love Steak and Shake burgers!

40 years, still the same. I've been eating these burgers and fries for 40+ years, still the same great taste and still one of the best - don't expect a thick burger, these are unique thin and slightly crisp cooked burgers, excellent!
