The "fees" you speak of no longer exist and haven't since 2010. I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with GTE, I love it and so do all of my family and friends! If you do ever have a problem just email Joe and he will make sure it is resolved and straightened out, he's that awesome!
TERRIBLE customer service.
Especially if you get a manager...they act like they are "god" and you are a peon! I did nothing wrong, paid on time on my mom's truck, they told me I had to pay off in 3 days or vehicle would be repossessed.....really??? I had made 13 payments after her death car was willed to me, kept calling to get loan changed to my name .....NOT AN OPTION pay by end of the week or it will be repo'd......so like a fool I did...then I get another bill, final....paid it $20 or so....and end up with an overpayment........You can only guess what that phone call was like.....KEEP the freaking 20 bucks and I hope the miserable biatch that I spoke to on all the above gets her due for being so MEAN!!!!!!! Can't believe she is in customer service! PLEASE NOT BORROW MONEY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!

AWFUL!. Awful! I have been a member since 1994 and was extremely loyal up until a couple of years ago. In fact, I had convinced all three of my siblings and my parents to switch to GTE. After years of being loyal customers, we are all trying to get out! GTE has lost its way and in my opinion is acting worse than most banks. They have added lots of fees, expired credit cards rewards points, and consistently post deposits AFTER withdraws to increase the number of NSF fees they can charge. If you are looking for a credit union and have any member of your family that has served in the military, you may qualify for membership with USAA. My entire family is moving there and we have found that USAA also has the best auto insurance rates. My parents switched from Geico and saved a bundle! I would suggest you find another credit union and avoid GTE. Take if from a customer of 17 years
GTE sucks........ They are constantly making changes to loan(even after 2 years)... Tagging on extra fees... Most everything is handled thru rude call centers that don't even communicate, with the branches they support. Run don't walk to any other financial institution...
Things have changed. Notice how things have changed since 2002. I have to agree. Their normal semi-competence was thrown into the gutter by the malfeasance of the large Wall Street banks, and the crisis in confidence has made this small, local credit union almost impossible to deal with.
DO NOT USE FOR LOANS.
I would highly recommend not using this company for a loan. They are constantly making changes to the loan, and trying to find ways to screw over their customers.
You're better off finding a more reliable company with upright business practices.
Great Credit Union!. If you have a family member who belongs then I would suggest you join. Most banks charge fees for online banking, bill pay and other services the credit union does not!
