Where It's At – Not far from downtown Tampa, Miguel's packs in a big crowd during lunch. Arrive early before the rush or be prepared to wait. – – The Dish – Miguel's menu resembles most other Mexican eateries with chile con queso, nachos, fajitas, tamales, enchiladas, tacos and burritos. However, Miguel's fresh cuisine, served in generous portions, is well beyond adequate. – – Try the chicken or beef flautas--corn tortillas filled with meat, fried and served with guacamole and sour cream--a bit like Mexican eggrolls. Excellent Mexican Food
by texigator
Miguel's is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. It has a very good variety of delicious Mexican dishes as well as very good chips and salsa. The service is personable, if not fast and the food is consistently good.
- Pros: A good assortment of delicious Mexican dishes
- Cons: Could use a few more combination choices
Food decent but nothing to rave about!!
by stazmo
we went around 2pm on a Tuesday. Went for the Tuesday special, 24.99 fajitas for 2 plus margarita/sangria pitcher. Being from Texas, I think I've had better, but the fajitas weren't too bad, Boracho beans were awesome, rice was nice but not what I was used to, but good. The only real let down when our food was placed in front of me were the tortillas!!! straight up store bought. and it seems that they weren't even warmed up on the stove but heated up some other way(nuked maybe)..I hate to say the tortillas kinda let down the rest of the meal. The pitcher of margarita tasted like water down lemonade. As far as the staff goes. He was very accomodating. Atmosphere was not a big problem. I'd say a good restaurant for in and out dining for people your already chummy with.. but not for a first casual date or something like that.
Great find, warm atmosphere, great food, moderate pricing

Just dined there last evening for my second visit and was as impressed as the first. Small, quaint restaurant, not fancy, but warm ambience. I think their sangria is some of the best around so order a pitcher if you're sharing. The food is much better than the quality at the "chain" type mexican restaurants popping up. The service is attentive as on both occasions the waiters checked back several times to see if we needed anything. My bellweather is the chips and salsa which is complimentary, the salsa is very good, diced with a medium hot factor and the chips are even better. It's a moderately price family restaurant that is definitely worth a visit if you like mexican food that is freshly prepared and modest pricing..
- Pros: Great food, pricing and sangria
- Cons: not that elegant inside, quaint and bare boned
