Happy Experience Turned Horrible

As a new bride of color, I was excitedly to see what this store had to offer based upon the reviews. Needless to say, the staff and Olga were very rude, unconcerned and basically told me to go to David's Bridal first. Unbelievable...I would hate to call them racist, but it definitely was rude service and regardless of color, money is green & they lost a lot that day. Please do not visit here, if you are ethnic...very disgusting & I plan to voice this any way I can.

Good Experience @ OLGA's

My experiences have always been pleasant at Olga's. The last time I went to Olga's was to have a bridesmaid dressed altered that I had ordered from Alfred Angelo (which wanted to alter it 4 weeks before the wedding). After ordering my bridesmaid dress I found out I expecting, and I would be about 34 weeks pregnant for my best friends big day. The alterations to the very form fitting dress cocktail length dress were perfect, they took the time to order the extra material and fit me a week before to ensure my ever expanding stomach would look appropriate.

The shop owners have always been very personable and friendly with me. And yes they are always busy and running around. They give you the attention you need, but not smothering.

Great Experience

My experience at Olga's was fantastic. They have such a great selection of dresses and the prices are good. I thought Olga was very nice and they were very helpful to me. I also was very pleased with my alterations. I just recommended that a friend of mine try them because she was having trouble finding a dresss she loved and she was so happy after leaving there and found her perfect dress! I would recommend Olga's to anyone getting married! Maybe I am different than the other reviewers, but I don't want someone standing over me and pulling dresses for me. I went with my mom and best friend and we were able to look around and through the dresses to see what we want without the pressure of a sales person hovering over you. To me that is a PLUS!

Good place if you know what you are looking for

The reason I got my dress from Olga's Bridal is because it is listed as the only authorized reseller of Maggie Sottero in Tampa (see Maggie's website).

I agree with the other reviews about not getting too much attention from the employees (Michelle and Olga are very busy all the time), but for me this wasn't a problem because I prefer to be left alone anyway.

When I went there I already knew exactly what I wanted. It took me only 1 hour to try a dress and place the order to another dress that I had previously found on Maggie's website.

Prices are reasonable and the selection is ok.

Service was not bad... at least not for me.

But I do agree that most brides like a lot of attention, help, suggestions, care and time to think about the options, etc. and Olga's Bridal could improve its service to best serve this clientele.

Very Happy Customer

I must admit that I looked at these reviews before I went shopping and was a little skeptical about going to Olga's, but every time I found a dress on-line or in a magazine I wanted to try on, I found Olga's name as the place to go. I went anyway, and have had a great experience with Olga's thus far. I have not had my fitting appointment yet, but I did buy my dress there (it is in and I have tried it on), and my girls bought their dresses there. So far, I have no complaints whatsoever. They might be a little more no-nonsense and a little less "sugary sweet", than some brides might be accustomed to or expecting, but all the ladies have been very helpful, in my opinion. They have a huge selection of wedding dresses to fit into any budget, and the selection of bridesmaid and special occasion dresses is very impressive, as well. I would recommend going on an off day rather than on a Saturday as, of course, it is their busiest day. It is a small shop and it is wall-to-wall gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and accessories. I went in on a Wednesday and the associate I worked with, Diane, was great!! She let us pull dresses ourselves, but also found out what I was looking for and pulled some for me. She actually picked out THE perfect dress for me based on my description of what I wanted. If you have fun with them, they will have fun with you!

If you are a high-maintenance "princess bride" who wants people to coo and drool over you, then maybe go to Demetrios first to get more of a "bridal experience", but if you want a quality dress at a reasonable price (reasonable as far as a wedding dress goes!), then I would highly recommend Olga's!
