Tips for Waffle House

From pecan waffles to legendary hash browns, breakfast fare rules at this homey 24-hour chain restaurant--but don't miss the chili.. In Short
Since 1955, this Atlanta-based chain has welcomed an all-hours crowd of shift workers, suits, regulars and late-night partiers with comfy booths and an extensive menu of Southern-accented home-style grub. Waffles (pecan or regular) are the restaurant's most popular dish. Other breakfast favorites include porterhouse T-bone steak and eggs, country ham, and signature hash browns cooked seven ways, from smothered with onions to topped with chili or cheese. Another bargain is the bowl of chili, which comes topped with onions, ham and cheese.

Great atmosphere and value!. The Waffle House on Westshore was my first ever Waffle House experience! Not only was the food very cheap, and great (and ooooooooh the hashbrowns!), but the atmosphere during our visit was SO wonderful! We had this sassy server who just reminds you of one of those cool black moms, calling you "sweetie," and "hon," and all that. She was just great. The locals were really great, too. You know, you have to wait for seating at these places because they're small and fill up fast... well, there was a young black professional gentleman who had been waiting, and then an elderly white lady who had come in after him. A booth opened up behind us, and she went for it...but he had been there first. Well, they both ended up eating together at the same booth, and had the coolest conversations. Two complete strangers, from different walks of life, having breakfast together! We visited another Waffle House in Kissimmee, but it didn't do this one justice! :)
