The Scene
The Castaway has more going for it than scenery. The interior is comfortable and quiet, and if you're lucky enough to get a window seat, you can spot seabirds playing in the glossy water, waves rolling in, boaters and the slow vault of the Howard Franklin Bridge as it cuts across the Bay's midsection. Its kitchen produces a fine assortment of dishes, from seafood to Cajun dishes. On Sundays, the restaurant stages brunch--inevitably packed on holidays, especially Mother's Day, so make reservations.

This is a great place to come and watch the big game on Sunday. They have 14 flat screen tv's in and around the bar area. They have lounge chairs and love seats through out the bar area that are very comfortable. The drink specials for happy hour ( 5pm-7pm and 9pm-11pm) can't be beat. The food is great and the service is very friendly. This will truely be a Steeler headquarters for the big game.

I went to the Castaway last Saturday night because Bahama Breeze was so crowded, and Im tired of getting bad service there. I was surprised to read so many bad reviews on the Cataway, after everything being so perfect. My husband and I had a few drinks at the bar which were the best margaritas either of us have ever had. They used freshly squeezed lime juice, which were just like the ones we had on our hunnymoon in Mexico. The bartenders were very friendly and made us feel very at home. The sevice was on point from beginning to end. My husband had 2 huge lobster tails which was a great price at 55 dollars. I had a seafood collage wich was a quite tasty dish. The server, London, enticed us into splitting a homemade tiramisu, it was as great as the evening. We have decided to make it our new Satuday date night getaway. The only thing that was bad about the evening was the large black woman outside on the beach right infront of our window rolling around in the sand while some guy was taking pictures of her. Luckily they left before dinner arrived. Next time we will request one of the private booths in London's section

My fiance and I don't get out very often, so when we do we try to treat ourselves. For a change, we tried The Castaway after driving by and seeing the view. What can I say other than this was probably the best meal we have ever had! Beginning with the most delicious margarita made by "martha", right down to the fabulous sunset I've heard about but never seen. Greeted promptly upon entering, given a romantic booth after cocktails at the bar, service with a smile. But the food was what impressed me the most. I am a bit of a woos when it comes to fish, cant stand fishy fish. The grouper tasted like it came straight from heaven, fresh and prepared to perfection with a heaping mound of steaming potatoes. My fiance's filet was fat and grilled to an exact medium rare. The fishtanks were awesome! My server "Naja" never missed a beat, and made us feel at home with a great smile. This has become our new place to visit when we find an escape out of the house!
