With its minarets towering over the downtown waterfront, this is by far Tampa's most recognizable building, and one of its oldest.. The Scene
Built in 1891 by Plant, a railroad magnate who played a central role in Tampa's early history, the building originally served as Tampa's first luxury hotel.

The Collection
The museum now sits on the campus of the University of Tampa, and has been preserved as a monument to the early days of Florida's tourist industry. Many rooms still look exactly as they did at the turn of the century, with original furniture, Victorian-era European art treasures, and relics from Florida's history. The museum's most popular event is its annual Victorian Christmas Stroll, when the entire building is decked out in holiday regalia from the period.
