A South Tampa Gem. Java and Cream is the best place to get coffee, breakfast, ice cream, and conversation in Tampa! They have top notch coffee and change their flavors daily. Their menu is extensive, so they can definitely make your coffee anyway you like it....and better than any of the impersonal 'chain' coffee shops in the area. My husband and I frequently enjoy coffee, breakfast sandwiches (out of this world), and their new doughnuts (truly amazing) for breakfast. It's also our favorite place to get an ice cream cone in Tampa. They have a wide range of flavors of homemade ice cream. Peanutbutter Blast is our favorite...peanut butter ice cream witn oreos mixed in...yum! Dennis used to own the place, but has since sold it....but don't worry...you'll still find him working there....he's still the manager....even he can't stay away from the local's favorite!

Excellent ice cream, desserts, coffee coolers and drinks help patrons get through the summer.. The Scene
Though the shop is small, it offers big taste and a good place to watch the action outside; it's fun to sit by the big windows, reveling in the chill of the coolers, and watch the world outside go by. On a hot summer's night, it's busy with kids and people meeting and old friends hanging out.

The Food
The Java & Cream ace is the Working Cow ice cream, which comes from a specialty dealer in Pinellas County: so rich, so smooth and firm, the way really cold ice cream should be. If you're not an ice cream lover but want dessert, try the fancy dishes that peek out from the glass cabinet, like peanut butter pie, Key lime pie and cappuccino cheesecake. Or you can order scones, croissants or cookies, and various coffees supplied by Joffrey's.

Hometown Charm and Quality. This is a true gem in the Tampa Bay area. The Proprietor, Dennis Cavanaugh, serves up delicious coffees, pastries, and ice creams along with wonderful conversation and service. The outdoor patio is a fine place to people watch and enjoy the ambiance of Davis Island.

A visit to this fine establishment is well worth the trip from anywhere in the bay!

Heaven on Earth. Java and Cream is a great place to go to relax with friends, read a paper, or watch the heart of Davis Island. The service is great, the owner and operator Denis is a wonderful and charming person. It is even safe to have you kids ride down to have an ice cream. It is just overvall a wonderful place.
