The Scene – A light wood interior, fish tank housing mesmerizing tropical fish, colorful tapestries, Siamese accents, and a porch that overlooks Restaurant Row. The stunning interior, fortunately, is not in keeping with the prices on the menu, which are moderate. – – The Food – Fresh, crisp vegetables; rich, thick sauces bursting with flavor; perfectly-spiced meats; flavorful curries. Start off with some crispy spring rolls, and move on to Tom Yum, a sumptuous coconut soup overflowing with fresh veggies. Next, order the red curry, a spicy stew of meat, bamboo…

delicious sizzling chicken. Have been there at least 15 times and always happy. I live in new York and only get to visit Tampa once or twice a month but always pleased when I go here.
Great Thai...

I love Royal Thai Palace and I absolutely crave it sometimes. I think the portion sizes are adequate and the pricing is fine for menu items. I do think the over charges for sharing and exchanges is ridiculous, but it won't keep me away. The amazing chicken is really tasty and the nam sod is the best I've ever had. We also really enjoy the pad Thai, mee krob and most of the curries. The crab rangoon is not the best. Weekend evenings can be really crowded making it difficult to even get takeout.

Small portions, bad food
by tdarrell at Citysearch
Just went her with my girlfriend on Friday, we got takeout. Portions were dilibriutly small, even the rice continer was half full!! I got chicken pad thai, and my girlfriend got sweet and sour chicken, and a small bowl of soup-36 dollars. We had to stop at a chinese resaurant on the way home to get more food!!! And to boot, the food was very bland and the vegatables were not fresh what so ever. This place the worst, and I not recommend goint there. They clearly only care about the bottom line, and not the customer. It is very hard to find good Thai in Tampa, and this place is no exception. DO NOT GO
Not going back from A Thai food Fan

This used to be my favorite Thai restaurant until more Thai restaurants started opening in Tampa and I realized what a bad value this particular one is. i wish the owners would read some of the reviews posted here and realize how they are perceived in the community- CHEAP! . Besides charging more for sharing, extra sauce, substituting one vegetable for another, and anything else they can think of the portions are VERY small. A glass of wine comes filled at about one third, and this is not "fine wine."
Parking is difficult, also.
Try one of the Thai restaurants on Gandy Blvd, or Kennedy for Thai food just as tasty, with bigger portions, lower prices and more accomodating service.
Awesome Crispy Duck

We walked by and decided to go in. The seating was prompt... but the service was NOT!!! We waited a while for our order to be taken, but after that... everything came quickly enough. The Royal Palace Duck was delicious. We shared an entree and the large appetizer. This is easily do-able for two people... we still had food left over. $30 for dinner. Great location.
