great live music.
walked in with some friends, and this acoustic duo, john dash wayne were playing. pink floyd, zep, david bowie, chili peppers,u2,they had dozens of jems. they really nailed these covers
as if they were their own. we couldnt leave, the place was jumping, and the micro brews were
excellent, because there were so many to choose from. i cant wait to see that duo again...
as a musician myself,i was very impressed. the pub is now my favorite tampa bay haunt.everyone was very friendly. two thumbs up...ybor should take note!!!
Great wings!!! Awesome beer selection.. Great staff!!!. I walked into Yeomans on a Friday night, the feel was bohiemin. What a mix from suits to sandles. I had a ruben with sweet potato french fries and my wife had the wings. The food was fabulous, as far as pub grub goes. The beer was cold and diverse. There was Pabst Blue Ribbon on draft, as well as, Delirium Tremmen. You can not get any more diverse than that!!!! Wheats Ales Lagers, Stouts, and Pilsners on draft...There were many micros, Dunedin, dogfish head, Rouge, Seadog, Great divide, to name a few. My personal favorite was Great White, Lost Coast brewery. There was a great musician playing, Shane Meade, my understanding this is the place to go for great live entertainment. A must check out if you are in the area...Davis Islands!!!
Island Hideaway. Another example of Old Tampa, this gem is the motherload if you like a cold beer and a great steak sandwich. The legendary Char-Ann sandwich has returned in all it's blazing glory. Also try the garlic butter wings and don't miss the sweet potato fries. Yeomans has the "Where everybody knows your name" comfort of a private club without an ounce of pretension or snootiness. The service is outstanding. It is perfect for lunch, Happy Hour, or late night camaraderie. With live music in a intimate setting or WiFi access for quieter times this placew has become my favorite haunt. And oh yes, did I mention they have over 100 different beers?
True pub fans will find the path to Yeoman's Road, a haven of English brews and good times hidden on Davis Island. .
The Lowdown
Good food, great drinks, and lively chatter punctuate this classic bar in the strictly defined English pub tradition. Yeoman's serves up Shepherd's pie and big burgers throughout the day and into the night. The casual feel draws the young and trendy Davis Island residents, but lunchtime brings out business professionals from just over the downtown bridge. Look for the old-style red British phone booth or you'll miss this bar nestled in the small strip of Island shops.
Where Everyone Knows Your Name
Become a regular and you can start pinning photos on their bulletin boards with all the other Yeomen and Yeowomen. Whether you're in for fish and chips or just pints, Yeoman's Road is your destination.
