This review is mostly for the customer
service associates and management at Yellow Cab. The drivers are independent contractors and I have never had any issues with the drivers.
The customer service agents/management do not communicate with the drivers and do not know the laws the cab drivers have to follow due to them being independent contractors.
Don't bother making a reservation as you will be misinformed.
People are always blaming cabbies.
People are always blaming cab drivers, but behind them there's a very corrupted company called Yellow Cab of Tampa.
I drove for this company for a couple of years and the magic word is bribery. As a cab driver you have to pay a $540 weekly lease plus gas for very unsafe cars. You have to bribe to get a good car, to fix it, to keep it and to get good calls. You have to be one of the 5% lucky drivers who bribe to get all the good calls, time calls, meter charges and MMGs.
Yellow Cab of Tampa squeeze the cabbies till they destroy their life and finally they fire them for any reason they want. They put a lot of pressure on the drivers who of course, to keep up with their bills, will try to do the maximum of fares, include being rude, always late, selecting customers, refusing short fares, driving recklessly and getting into accidents. Yellow cab of Tampa is managed and ruled by the Minardi family mafia which support and finance the very corrupted Hillsborough Public Transportation Commission to protect their interest and kill the competition (bit.ly/3MdfM3) and very corrupted and nasty people like Tim, Santana and Branda.
If you don't believe me ask any yellow cab driver and they will be more than glade to tell you how nasty this company is. Last advise take united cab witch is a really decent company.
2 Rude Customer Service Representatives in 1 phonecall!!. So...today 6/26/11 I called in for a yellow cab/taxi.The lady that responded answered and she asked me what my destination was. I told her...then i said i was trying to call in a taxi for my mother who had just gotten off of work. And she said they do not do that kind of service. And she clicked on me.She CLICKED ON ME!!!!!!...From what i know a customer service representative should not do that. Any person shouldn't do that. Its too bad i didnt' ask for the name. If i had i would have reported this person. Because that is something that should not be allowed in a job. Then that's not all...i called again. Right away. And asked if that was the same representative i was talking to...and the lady sounded annoyed..and said no. Okey...then i was trying to explain to her what the last representative did..and she said ''well this is not the same representative...so you dont have to worry about it"...okey...what kind of response is that??She was getting loud too. Then i told her she was starting to be rude with me too. And she said loudly "im not im just letting you know". Again...this is not the type of customer service customers need to hear. Either some workers need to be supervised...or fired!!This is not right. And im not surprised why there is so many bad reviews for this place. This phonecall i made proved it all. You guys NEED to get better workers. And SUPERVISE the ones you already have. I work as a cashier...and you wont belive how many customers i get that comment on my performance!I feel good about it. And there is some that are rude...but i still manage to keep my BEARING.This is exactly what this place needs. So i might try to apply for this place...I would love to show what i got as a customer service representative!!!!
YELLOW CAB HAS THE WORST SERVICE EVER!. My rating on yellow cab is this: On Wednesday March 9th 2011 I had called a cab at 6:45 P.M. and had to call at least 10 other times - I was at Sweet bay on Nebraska and MLK and finally me and a few of my other friends that on DISABILITY HAD TO WALK HOME 20 BLOCKS- I HAD CALLED THE SUPERVISOR TAMMY AND SHE WAS BEING VERY NASTY WITH ME ON THE PHONE AND ALL WE WANTED TO GET A CAB HOME - BUT NO THAT NEVR EVER HAPPEN...THIS COMPANY YELLOW CAB SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CONDUCT BUSINESS IN THIS MATTER...SO SHAME ON YELLOW CAB!!!
Worst Cab Service Ever - Left Us Waiting 4 Hours at Walmart.
My husband and I will NEVER use Yellow Cab again. We waited at Walmart for 4 hours and a taxi FINALLY arrived.
Imagine if we had groceries; they would have all been spoiled by then. Good thing we didn't have somewhere to be because we would have been late.
We didn't get home until 12:40 am. That is just ridiculous and unacceptable service!! Plus, we had to pay the FULL fair!?? After waiting half the night we couldn't even get a discount for the inconvenience? We were stranded at Walmart half the night!!
We are telling everyone we know online and offline to never use Yellow Cab!!!
Recently tried to schedule a pickup with these guys to take me to the airport, a mistake I will never make again.
I had submitted an online reservation for a cab to pick me up at 1145 on a Monday morning and take me to the airport. When I didn't receive a confirmation, I called that morning to make sure they had the reservation. The person who answered the phone said they had the reservation, no problem.
When no cab had shown up by 1150, I called the office to find out what was going on (maybe the driver was having difficulty locating the address). After explaining my problem, I was kept on hold for 10 minutes. At that point I hung up, because I had a plane to catch. Still don't know what happened, since no one ever called back and left a message (they had my phone number).
I've only recently moved to Tampa, and this was the first time I had called a cab company. Needless to say, it will be the last time I will be calling these clowns.
Cab #76. Sahed, not sure how to spell his name. He is from Morocco. Picked my sister and me up from Ocean Prime and even though my sister was drunk and hopped out of the cab, he tried to get her back in. I really appreciate that he stepped out of his role to help me.
Avoid at all costs. I made a reservation for a ride to the airport and the cab did not show up. When I called to inquire, they did not offer to send another cab. In fact, they wouldn't even confirm whether they could find my reservation, either by street address or by confirmation number. I was put on hold and they did not return. I had to drive to the airport.
Great service!!!. This is a great service they are outstanding compared to united and americab and I am from tampa and use them on a daily basis!
yellow cab. I am a frequent customer to YELLOW CAB. I always recommend them for the guests that come to the hotel that I work at. I guess you don't realize who you are trying to cheat when you are scamming. I was coming out of Busch Gardens on a terrible stormy night recently. When all I wanted to do was get my family home. I noticed 2 YELLOW CABS, and what appeared to me as a bootleg cab white van. I asked the driver of the van will he take us. I guess because we were his same skin color, he decided to discriminate. I thought all money was green. Or maybe it was because he wanted someone who appeared to be stupid. His buddy's conversed with him in there foreign (Haitian) language and we got in the cab car. As soon as we got in the driver hits me with a line about it being an extra $3 dollars per person. After a few explitives from me we all got out in the rain. The only thing saving this man was me not even attempting to get his cab number. I never forget a face though. I called YELLOW CAB and informed them of this suprise extra charge, which of course they know nothing of. To wrap it all up.....I WILL NOT EVER USE THEM AGAIN OR CALL THEM FOR THE GUESTS IN THE HOTEL I WORK AT. I HAVE ALSO INFORMED EVERYONE OF MY CO-WORKERS AS WELL. Thats a good chunk of business they just lost. We have had a problem with them before over charging our guests. You would think in times like these people would at least be honest.
