1603DO NOT SEE JC. Can't say enough BAD things about this place. I went in with an idea for a tattoo and talked to JC. He quoted me much higher than a guy right across the street and when I asked him to match it he said "just take a look at my work that's why I'm not lowering my price". It was arrogant but he said he was very good so I decided to go through with it. He put a part of the tattoo on BACKWARDS after I had reminded him several times to do it the right way. I'm going to have to get it removed. The funny thing about it looking back, is him talking about how GOOD he is. Huge mistake going here.
Amazing tattoos, friendly staff!.
My husband and I went to 1603 this weekend on both Saturday and Sunday. I got a tattoo on Saturday evening on my left leg by Dwayne (a visiting artist for the tattoo convention) and 2 on my back on Sunday from Matt. My husband got one on his calf from Matt as well on Sunday.
My husband had a semi-quirky idea for his tattoo, and I have to say, Matt drew it up perfectly. Also I'd seen many tattoos with tinkerbells face messed up (on the web) and was worried about that happening.
Matt reassured me and he was true to his word. The tattoos came out wonderful, they are healing nicely, and for 4 rather large tattoos we only paid about 620 total. I've paid more for smaller tats (the individual prices).
Even though this tattoo shop is 2 and 1/2 hours from my house (we were in Tampa for the weekend) I would (and am) recommending 1603 Tattoo to anyone and everyone I come across that's talking about tats. I've already convinced a friend that lives in MI to go with me to get a tat there if/when she comes to visit. I love them. As long as I'm living Florida, I'll be getting my tats from 1603.
Thanks Edgar, Matt and Dwayne!
What Cover up?. Great Place , clean and friendly. Wanted a old 28 years old tattoo covered up. Skip did a great job giving me options. Casper did the art . I got to say when Casper was finished It look better than I could have imagined.
PA at 1603.
Last night I went to Monique's, now known as "1603" and had a Prince Albert done by Julie. The experience was great. Julie is nice, knows what she's doing, and made me feel comfortable from beginning to end. The piercing itself went quick and smooth. This morning things look great and feel just fine. I highly recommend this shop and Julie herself, and will be going back to her in the future.
Julie, if you read this, thanks very much. You were great!
VERRRRY Good..
All the piercers (the only ones I've encountered) were always very fun, kept up a conversation, distracted you from the piercing... they're very good. They're also very professional and friendly, down to earth. They did everything their website said they would, gave advise, talked, anwsered all our questions, and were overall very, very good.
I haven't gotten a piercing there yet, but my sister has twice. (Lip and then right brow.) They latter is healing perfectly, the former was more of her fault than the piercers. Clean.
Great Staff.
I Got My 4th Tattoo There After Going To Atomic Tattoos On Dale Mabry And I Got A Lizard Done On The Back Of My Leg And I Was Very Happy With How It Looked. I Just Gave Them A Little Idea And Let They Run With It And I Was Very Pleased....However They Are A Little Overpriced $160 Dollars For Mine
Still Good Overall
Out of my element..... I wanted to get a tattoo, but like most people I was clueless where to go. I am a married, mother of 2 living in the" suburbs". My sister told me about Moniques. When I arrived, I have to say I was TOTALLY out of my element. The staff made me feel like I was an "old pro". Skip was great, a true artist. He took his time with me figuring out exactly what I wanted . Everything was clean and tidy in his work area. Needless to say, I have since gotten another tattoo and taken my husband and many friends for theirs...
Monique's may cause you to rethink your definition of "Body Essentials," and just might make your hair stand on end, if you're into that sort of thing..
Who Knew?
My old boss once told me that in his day, men with earrings were considered "light in the loafers." I hereby dare him to suggest said lightness to any of the fine individuals who patronize Monique's. You're liable to get yourself pierced, boss man.
Pick an Oriface, Any Oriface
If pain is the name of your game, you've come to the right place. The knowledgeable professionals here are well equipped and trained to put steel in your face. And their list of places pierced is much longer than your you-know-what.
Pricks You'll Actually Like
With two tattoo artists-in-residence, several educated piercers and bright people behind the well-stocked jewelry counter, everything about Monique's tells you you've been stuck in the right place. Ouch.
Great Tattoo Shop. I have gotten 2 tattoos from Jennifer at Monique's. The shop is clean, comfortable and the staff is great. I would highly recommend.
wouldn't go elsewhere!.
Every bit of work on me and mine has come from this shop. Piercings and tattoos. Skip is the man with the tattoo gun in-hand and Amber is the mistress with the mostest when it comes to piercings. Plus Mike behind the counter makes the whole thing that much more fun. I always feel at home when I go in and it's always super clean, comfy and friendly.
Genuinely, when any of our friends want anything done at all - this is where we take them. No attitude. No crap. No freaks you wouldn't trust to work on you just good people who enjoy what they do.
TEN STARS!!!! BOOYAA!
