Great Place For Music. Great place to see good bands with quality musicians. Good place to see something other than blues rock, which seems to be the Tampa standard.

Went there once and will NEVER go back.. I've only been to the Rare Olive in Ybor one time and with good reason. The drinks were expensive and the service was slow. The band playing that night was good but that was the only good thing about it. The truth is it's a great yuppy hangout. If you're a guy who's all comfy cozy in a suit and tie for a Saturday night out and doesn't mind spending cash on overpriced drinks then this is the spot for you. If you're a woman who spends more than two hours in front of your mirror to get ready in your designer threads, 10 layers of makeup and your handbag that costs as much as a monthly car payment or more than this is the spot for you. But, if you're a laid-back, down to earth person that just wants to go out and have good drinks, a good laugh and a good time you'd be in the wrong place here.

If you get lost in the maze of bars in Ybor City, look for this martini oasis.. In Short
Upscale, with a selection of martini drinks, the cigar-friendly Olive has plush seats at intimate tables. Enjoy blues and jazz nightly, but be sure to catch Beanstalk--the house band fills the bar with Deadheads and their friends who groove to the trio's funky flavors. A narrow bar is operated by the owner and one or two bartenders who mix expensive drinks.
