If you're looking for an authentic Italian experience, look no further. The intimate atmosphere and delectable food make this a favorite spot of mine. The prices are reasonable, too.
Wonderful Surprise!!!. I'm from NY and love great Italian food. When I went to Tampa recently for vacation, someone told me to visit Ybor City for a fun place to walk around and sight see. My family and I had dinner at a place called La Terrazza. What a great little restaurant! We're still talking about what a great dinner we had, and the really fun and professional servers they had. Luigi even taught us how to say a few things in Italian. It was a highlight of our vacation. We're definitely going back next time we're in town.
Great place!!!!!. We loved La Terrazza. Warm, friendly and efficient service made the experience a comfortable pleasure. The decor is perfect and every bite we taste was delicious. A new favorite for sure!
Authentic Family Owned restaurant. Try the Ravioli Aurora!. I Love this place! I first became familiar with it 4 years ago. I just again visited tonight (visiting in Tampa) and enjoyed my favorite dish (Ravioli Aurora). Incredible. The ambience is nice as it is a small family owned Italian restaurant. Yes Ybor city is a tourist hangout but this restaurant is authentic and worth a visit.
Valentines Day. After reading reviews for this restaurant, I thought this would be the perfect place for a Valentines Day dinner. So I called, made the reservations, and was informed about a "Valentines Day" special and immediately I asked if that would be the only option and "no" was the answer I got. So I figured I would be able to choose from anything they have on their menu (available on their website, with decent prices). What a surprise when we got there and there was only a few options to choose from - only the valentines menu. Ok... the food took WAY too long to come to our table. Yes, their ceaser salad was really really good. The pasta course... OK. But the main course... OH MY GOD. We just could not eat HALF of the chicken, half of the meat... TASTELESS. Well, normal so far. I have been disappointed with restaurants before. But they charged us $115 for a very very plain food in general, and where was the good service these reviews mention? I don't mind paying that much money for a GOOD food, in a GREAT place. That was NOT the case. I got out of there EXTREMELY frustrated, with the certainty of NEVER coming back again. From the wrong information on the phone when making the reservation, to the RIDICULOUS price... I rate this restaurant NOT RECOMMENDED. This could be only a "valentines day" really BAD deal... I haven't been there before at a "normal" day... Either way, they should make the dinner "SPECIAL"... and not a frustrating experience, like they did.
Valentines Day Dinner. My wife and I decided to try this Italian place for Valentines Day based on the menu seen online. Upon arriving there, we realized they were not serving the regular menu, but had a "Valentines day special menu". $50 per plate (appetizer, ravioli, main course, and desert). Funny thing about going to an Italian restaurant, I expected some sort of pasta option for the main course. The options were chicken, veal, fish and steak. My wife ordered the chicken, while I ordered the steak. WARNING: in the first bite of the main course, both of us realized this was the worst dinner EVER! I've had better frozen dinners than this PATHETIC FOOD! I really thought I was flying a major airline when tasting the meal (although I give airlines meals more credit than this, and more flavor). Thank you "La Terrazza" for ruining our Valentines day dinner. We will never go there again and are advising everyone we know to avoid this place at any cost.
Ditch the Ybor City crowds for stellar Italian fare and quiet, romantic ambience..
The Scene
Pretty, crisp linens in burgundy and white line the tables. Seventh Avenue partiers roll past the windows. The dark, smoochably dim interior is perfect for cooing couples. Waiters are attentive and friendly, a perfect match for the ambiance.
The Food
The menu is mostly Italian, accented with fresh pastas and sauces. Indulge on the crusty, crunchy bread and a superior glass of Chianti. Crisp salads are perfect beginnings, followed by one of the specials, such as delicate, round disks of perfect pasta stuffed with lobster, floating in cream sauce. Spinach-stuffed ravioli is accented with a delightful, tangy red sauce. For dessert, the chocolate mousse is so creamy and rich, chocolate lovers will swoon.
Romantic dinner destination. This is a perfect place for a romantic date or a quiet dinner with friends. It's small, reminds me of restaurants in the Italian north end of Boston. The service is consistently excellent. They know you here (whether they really do or not) and they strive to please. You feel like you're in your favorite neighborhood restaurant. Not a huge menu but everything is good. Nice wine list.
great food. i love this place. It is a small place but there is nothing small about their food and service. The manager and servers are professional and really friendly. I love italian cooking and this place serves the best. It is a nice place for couple or just for people who love to have a nice dinner in peace.
Romantic, low-key spot. Despite being located on one of the busier stretches of Seventh Avenue, this Italian restaurant still manages to offer a low-key romantic ambience and excellent service. The pasts dishes -- such as the penne with black olives and tuna -- are all top-notch. The wine list is more than decent, and the decadent desserts are to die for. Come for an early dinner, then stick around for bar-hopping in Ybor as the area heats up.
