a great little place to do brunch with the girls.. The food is great. The service is good depending on who you get.. The bar is good too. Parking is ample. The view is of Florida Ave. There are many things to do in the central location.Good for kids.
The Best Steak I ever had!!!!!!. On Florida ave, just north of Hillsbourgh ave, there is a great hideaway resturant. I went in to dine last Thursday with a friend. We both ordered the steak filet and it was fantastic. The beef was so tender and it had the perfect blend of flavors, I went back on Friday and had it again. I love there steaks!!! Both nights we had great service. I also recommend the Banana Heaven, the best banana dessert in Tampa Bay.
Inconsistent Service. We love it that Seminole Heights has a cute little restaurant to go to. The food is generally pretty good, and the atmosphere is about the same. The service, however, is less than stellar. Sometimes you may "hit the jackpot" and get a polite server, the other half of the timeit seems like you are doing your server a disservice by dining in. It seems to me that a neighborhood joint should promote an ambience of friendliness. If I wanted crappy food and service, I could go to a chain near the mall.
Ignore the decor. I was a little put off by the rundown appearance of the place....the bar looks like it was just kinda thrown together, there are bare spots on the ceiling.....but ignore all of that. The drinks are good--none of that "I can't taste the alcohol" here. And the only thing better than the drinks is the FOOD! The steak my friend had was butter soft, though I wasn't crazy about the steak sauce glaze..and my front porch seafood salad was phenomenal. I got two martinis(happy hour prices), my meal and desert for less than 30 bucks. I will SO go back.
A gem!. This place was quite the find....great food served in a casual, neighborhood hang-out kind of atmosphere. Come here if you appreciate the finer things but you're tired of those generic chain restaurants. They start the meal with a good crusty bread and plenty of mm mmm dipping oil. We had the best Insalate Caprese I've ever tasted, followed by Blue Crab Stuffed Salmon, Creme Brulee and Banana Heaven. The food was fabulous from start to finish. Next time we go, we're going to try some of their more casual fare. Can't wait!
Good food. Unusual venue.. Despite the flighty male waiter the experience was very good. An unusual eclectic menu served at tables on the front porch of an old home. The view of Florida Avenue is nothing special but it was a fun night.
