Tampa Theater.
pdwinter22's comment about being here for 20 years and never having been to the Tampa Theater does not prove how popular it is or isn't. It only proves how Stupid he, or she is!! I am a Native of Tampa and remember having to get 2 bus transfers to get to the Tampa Theater every Saturday back in the 50's and 60's when I was a child. I would watch the same movie over just to be in this magnificent theater.
I moved away for 20 years and was so afraid to go back when I moved back home because nothing is ever as Grand as you remember it. I was wrong!! I got chills the second that I walked into the lobby. It is just as magnificent as it was when I was a child, and just as romantic as when my parents were dating back in late 30's. pdwinter22 ,GO HOME to your trashy Drive Inn"s from your youth!!
I love to go there and to share it with my out of town friends

Downtown Tampa's landmark theater comes with a marquee, twinkling stars above and a 1,000-pipe Wurlitzer organ below..
In Short
Built in 1926, the theater remains a historical masterpiece in the "Florida Mediterranean" style, with touches of eclectic architectural elegance from Italian Renaissance, Byzantine, Mediterranean and English-Tudor styles. Check out classic movies, concerts, specialty films and events or just stop by for a tour. The concession stand sells everything from homemade cookies to beer and wine. Arrive early to most films and listen to performances on the Mighty Wurlitzer Theater Organ.
