Conventions crawling with name tag-wearing delegates feel just as comfortable here as couples exchanging wedding vows and college grads collecting diplomas.. The Scene
This lovely, large downtown structure combines function with flair. The building's picturesque waterfront setting, coral and blue decor and large windows add a tropical touch to its 600,000 square feet, creating an ambience atypical among comparable centers. Since opening in 1990, the center has brought millions of people spending millions of dollars to the Tampa Bay area for meetings, trade shows, and conventions. The proximity to the massive Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel, which opened in 2000, certainly hasn't hurt.



The Events


Locals pour through the doors when new models of cars and boats fill the center's floor space. Formal banquets, corporate meetings and functions tied to special sports events like the Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four basketball tournaments and National Hockey League All-Star games keep this center a busy spot year-round.
