Tampa >First Watch
Great Service make a bad morning so much better!. I have to say it has been awhile since I've been to First Watch, but today I just felt like that was the place to go for the way my morning had started. I just didn't feel like my normal social, chatty self. When I walked into First Watch, a young server named Kelly greeted me. She was about to seat me when I realized there were two people to close and too loud. I asked her if I could just move to another section and with a very accommodating demeanor she proceeded to sit me in another location in which she realized I still wasn't completely sure. So, she moved me to the place she thought was the best and it certainly was! Not only did I get peace and quiet, my breakfast was awesome and the omelet was so fresh! I felt bad for moving two times but Kelly made it seem effortless. I remembered why I always used to go to First Watch when I worked in Sarasota, because of the great food, the nice and friendly service and the comfy feeling. Thanks Kelly, you made my morning feel better!
Downtown Tampa loaction going down hill. Used to go many times, but lately the side portions are very skimpy(potaoes are delicious, but you get a tablespoon full), and the freshness of breads have been iffy for their sandwhichs, service has been below par my last few times.
This homey, family-style restaurant chain dishes up some of the city's best--and most affordable--breakfasts around..
First Watch may serve lunch, but it's their take on breakfast that brings in the diners. Pancakes, made to order with toppings such as blueberry, granola, and bananas, are served in a doughy stack with a selection of syrups. Florida french toast features slabs of cinnamon raisin or sourdough bread sprinkled with wheat germ and piled with fresh bananas, kiwis and berries. The standard bacon and cheese omelet gets a twist with avocado, Monterey jack and sour cream, and chunky home fries are available with most entrees. Lunch is mainly salads and sandwiches.
Screwed by a chain. This local favorite is hands down better than an overworked chain.
First Watch is First in everything!!. Since arriving in Sarasota, FL in 1995 I found this little spot called First Watch...the food is amazing at prices that would make Denny's ashamed of themselves...why you ask...because for basically the same price your get an outright gourmet experience and the wait...what wait? You're served within 10min after placing your order...no one, but no one in town can compete with this gem....in Tampa (Carrolwood) needs a little more atmosphere however the food and service is just like it's sister in Sarasota...Bravo! First Watch may you always watch over my favorite meal of the day Breakfast!!
The Healthy Breakfast. This is one of the few restaurants...that offers many different ways to eat healthy, low fat, and flavorful meals. Its nice to see a clean dining area and a very friendly staff....eager to tailor your meal to your needs. I was going to order a glass of orange juice and asked if the had pulp, it did and she removed it...even after I said to not to go to the trouble...that I would order an apple juice instead....now thats service...
Very Overrated!!. Before my family and I tried FirstWatch's breakfast, we'd heard nothing but raves about the quantity and quality of food served. Turns out the place was/is totally overrated. Service was OK but the food was just ho-hum and the portions weren't something to right home about. I've gotten better and more food for cheaper prices at local hole-in-the-wall restaurants than at FirstWatch. The people who love the place can have it!!!
great food. this place has great food but kinda pricey, and they charge for everything you want extra..
Awesome Breakfast. First Watch has the best breakfast's in town. Fresh food and alot of healthy items too. My personal favorite would be the BLTE, a must try!
Great Neighborhood Restaurant. My wife and I have been eating breakfast at the First Watch in Carrollwood almost every weekend for 7 years. The food is always good and the staff is very willing to make substitutions. I take business associates there for lunch. They're never disappointed.
