An ideal location for events at Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center.. The Scene
Performers can often be found on the guest list at this hotel right next door to the very busy Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. The center is the city's premier venue for touring Broadway shows, concerts, guest artists and numerous other regional and local productions. For out-of-towners wanting to catch a show without having to suffer a long ride home afterward, this place is ideal.

The Details
The basic, dependable rooms here feature king-sized or a pair of double beds. For business travelers there are two phones with voice mail and data ports. Standard amenities include cable TV, coffee makers and the like. There is a fitness center on-site. Room service is available. And as for location, proximity to the arts center is just the beginning. Corporate travelers are close to many downtown businesses and the convention center, and it's just a short ride to ice hockey at St. Pete Times Forum. Also nearby is the Latin entertainment and shopping district of Ybor City. The Tampa International Airport is six miles away.

Needs a holiday for makeover. This aging giant is located right down town. Its one saving grace is that it's more affordable for the non-Fortune 500 company business types and budget-minded families since the other hotels downtown are much more up$cale; like the new Marriott, and the Hyatt and Wyndham.

But, this place has gone too long between refurbishings. It is approaching "run-down" but it's not quite there yet. Affordable shouldn't mean sub-standard and this one is. Fabulous location tho', right on river.
