Down-Home and Delicious. My mom took us to this restaurant about two years ago and we've frequented it ever since. They have seafood, nothing too fancy, but incredibly fresh and delicious. My husband usually will order their shrimp alfredo or chicken alfredo. He also likes the fried mahi-mahi. I usually like to get the blackened catfish or talapia. It's a small establishment, but it's clean. We love it when we hear the trains pass. The waitresses are incredibly nice. Honestly, we've never had a bad experience there and I'll be taking my dad tomorrow.
Dear Saul....
Too bad you didn't read the reviews first. Then you would realize that Willie's was not going to be your kind of fru-fru "bistro".
Willie's is for the everyman, the blue collar dude and the regular joe. Apparently it is not for the likes of you.
For everyone else that loves deep fried seafood, Willie's rocks to the Nth degree!
What a dump!.
Went to this place on a Friday night. Why?
The place is a dump. I'm eating fried fish in a trailer?
Wine served in a wax cup? Food on paper plates?
Over priced, poor food quality.
For Seafood in the brandon area try Stingrays or the Shrip Boat. Streer clear of eating at the orange fish trailer.

Best taste of Old Florida. Willie's has the best, most tender gator anywhere. Whenever we have visitors, we always get boxes to go or take them to Willie's. It's too bad there aren't more restaurants with the friendly home feel that this place has. I just like the location too. Down by the railroad tracks, the decor of critters hanging on the wall. If you like fishing, you'll get a kick out of the monsters hanging around. We've lived all around the world, though natives of Florida. From Europe to the Caribbean, we've dined at some pretty fine and cool places, but Willie's is at the top of our list. Great staff is very friendly, too.
Don D.
I donot know where the last fellow got his food but was not at Willies, there is no place where
you can get better, the service is slow sometimes, but the food is well forth the wait. I have lived in this
aera most of my life and have eaten seafood from one cost to the other, and never found and up the
east coast to north Carolina, and to the Keys, it does not come any better than
Willie's
One of a kind.
They just don't open restaurants like this anymore. Mounted fish and paintings of local cypress swamps adorn the walls. Even the parking fits with the feel of the restaurant, with a row of grass spots along a railroad track.
The food is excellent, but be wary if you don't like fried foods. They've got lots of old Florida staples that you can't find anymore, like alligator tail and frog legs. The shrimp, mahi-mahi, and hush puppies are also impressive.
This cozy seafood shack offers some of the freshest fish around..
The Scene
Opened in 1975, Fat Willie's occupies a building that has been a general store, post office and restaurant in the middle of nowhere since 1915. Whether it's the tin roof or the green-checked tablecloths, everything about this seafood shack lends to the campy atmosphere that leaves you wishing you had your hook in the water to pull up tonight's dinner.
The Food
Don't expect fancy sauces, chutneys or salsas with your fish. The house specialties are your choice of water critters (catfish, flounder, crab and more) dipped in flour and cracker meal and dropped in hot vegetable oil to seal in flavor. For the health-conscious, there are some selections grilled and broiled as well. Not into seafood? There are some landlubber entrees on the menu, plus a pasta dish or two. The children's menu is limited, but it's probably the only one in the state that features alligator and dolphin.
