Inexpensive barbecue is the main draw at this reliable Southeastern chain..
In Short
Owner Sonny Tillman has been serving the same Southern barbecue and fixings since 1968. A common roadside stop, Sonny's offers low prices and barbecue; roomy booths, wagon-wheel chandeliers and homey craft art are the standard dining room decor. House barbecue sauce, available sweet, regular or hot, spices up large helpings of smoked beef, pork, chicken, turkey and ribs. Sides like fresh fried okra, onion rings and barbecue beans complement the entrees.

Great value, good barbeque.
We have eaten at this Sonny's several times with the children; it is a great family restaurant, with great value for the service and the amount of food over all. They will practically bag everything, including your soda, for you to take home and nibble on later. The staff is very pleasant and has gone out of their way to provide quick service, and a quality meal. It isn't the best, most amazing barbeque I have ever had, but the atmosphere and attitude will keep my family coming back. The ribs are good, the pulled pork is amazing, the pulled beef is good, the chicken is really smoky but good, and the sides are okay. The mild sauce tastes reminiscent of Arthur Bryants.
