Best Seafood and steak on the beach. If you are looking for that fine dine seafood place with their own wine cellar and tropical yet classy ambience, then you have found the right place. I love going here for the romantic and modern restaurant that is near the beach and also over looks the water. They also have outdoor seating that is on the water. The food here is the best seafood and steak I have ever had while dining on the beach. You will enjoy this place for any special occasions and also for most holidays. They have special menu's that are great for the whole family. You also would enjoy the Sunday brunch, which is buffet style with food that is out of this world, from peel and eat shrimp, sushi, your traditional breakfast foods, eggs benedict, and fresh fruit, cheese and crackers, and endless desserts and so much more. You also get one free glass of champagne or mimosas with the brunch. I would highly recommend this place to everyone!!!
Quiet? No. Worth Trying? Absolutely.. Definitely one of the most *spirited* upscale dining experiences you'll encounter, but if you know that ahead of time, just go and have fun. You'll find that it only takes a few minutes for the "noise" to fade into the background and you can just enjoy your party. I would still recommend this for a romantic spot, because the sunset views are gorgeous, but definitely try for a window seat. On the downside, we've never had great service here and yet we return again and again -- that's a testament to the food, which is unbelievably good. Splurge and try the king crab and lobster, though the steaks are delicious too.
So so seafood and a smarmy waiter. Waiter with attitude and scallops I could use as hockey pucks in a noisy room. Not my idea of a good time.
Recommended. A really lovely place to go for a special occasion. The food was a little pricey, but was absolutely delicious with lovely presentation. Service was excellent. Lovely atmosphere with outside dining. Inside dining was noisy and there were alot of tables very close together which made it a little too close for my comfort. But overall it was a fabulous experience.
Do not recommend.
I can handle background noise and am NOT picky at all, but this was the loudest restaraunt I have been to in recent memory. The 4 of us at our table had to SHOUT the entire meal to hear each other. It was so loud because of the diners being so close together, the music and all the talking. The floors are all tile and hardwood and no matter how good the food is, just too loud of a place to eat. The food was good, but for the prices, I would want to be able to talk while I was eating. I won't eat there again.
Very disappointed.
Wish I'd read Maria2525's review before going!. We had a reservation but still waited 1 hour at the bar before being seated. It was our 10th year anniversary so we were assured we'd get a romantic seat and it would be worth the wait. Wait staff and bar staff very snooty. It was difficult to get a drink at the bar, we waited about 20 mins before placing our order, and the wine prices are OUTRAGEOUS! The glasses were dirty w/food and lipstick on them, the wine had cork in it and was $12/glass. The restaurant is like a cafeteria and the seating is very tight. We had to shout to be heard. Unfortunately it was NOT ROMANTIC like the review or hostess stated. If you want to wait for an overly priced, overly salted dinner, served on dirty plates and glasses by snotty staff this is your place.
User review by maria2525. If you are looking for a romantic setting, forget it. Restaurant is very loud and feels like a cafeteria. If you want great food, this is the place. Best salad in town. Filet melts in your mouth. Staff was a bit snooty
Pacific Rim dining in a hip waterfront setting..
The Scene
The dining room is comfortable, with towering ceilings, lots of glass and wood, and large windows for viewing sunsets and sailboats on Mandalay Bay. Both bars--one for drinking, one for sushi--are relatively small, but filled with bustling well-dressed singles. The staff is attentive, with an excellent sommelier to guide your wine selection. On pleasant evenings, grab a seat on the deck.
The Food
Enticing aromas from the wood-fired grill fill the air, but specialties from the searing wok add exotic flavors to the menu. Starters like seared tuna, tender and rare, won't keep you from the feast to come. Specials may include tantalizing dishes like grouper stuffed with blue crab and encrusted with macadamia nuts. Steaks are aged, tender and cooked to perfection--the lobster tail or giant king crab legs are worthy additions. Creme brulee topped with candied ginger is a light and savory ending.
New Fanatic!. I was vacationing in Clearwater Beach and I asked the concierge if he could reccomend a good seafood restaurant. I was rewarded with the superior food and service at The Island Way Grill. Everything exceeded my expectations. I was welcomed by a warm, romantic, inviting atmosphere. The staff was knowlegeable and courteous. The filet was the best I'd ever tasted! I highly reccomend the wasabi potatoes. From start to finish it was a highly enjoyable meal. I plan to return the next chance I get. 5 stars!!!
Unbelievable. This place is remarkable............I live on Clearwater Beach, FL and i've eaten here many times. Every single time i've eaten here it has been a memorable time and the food is great. I have not eaten one dish that I have been dissatified with. I highly recommend this place for all occasions. I would also recommend it for just plain casual dining! Great place defintely A+++
