Editorial Review for St. Pete Beach – by Eric Vician
The Scene
A wall of condominiums and hotels rises just beyond the sand dunes on this busy beach. With more than 50 hotels and motels, the area boasts the most rooms of any community along the Suncoast. Choose between the Alden Beach Resort, the Wooden Shoe and many others.
Things to Do
Located on Long Key, the beach offers water sports such as wave running, scuba diving, fishing and parasailing. You can also golf along the water. Residents know they don't have to go far for good eats and drinks. One of the area's best pubs is the Harp and Thistle, and some of the top sirloins are grilled at Silas Dent's Steakhouse. The beach also hosts events such as arts and crafts festivals and boat parades.
