A Shot of the Scene
It almost looks like a high-class bordello, or a sophisticated cigar bar sans the masculine leather accoutrements and stinky, guffawing businessmen. The main room is dominated by a beautiful wooden wrap-around bar, floor to ceiling windows and a small dance floor that quickly fills up with patrons bumping and grinding the night away. A cozy lounge room has dark red velvet couches and chairs and flickering candles on every table. Shoot a game of pool, people-watch at the floor-to-ceiling windows or chat with friends.
Where It's At
Located above historic Cafe Creole on Ninth Avenue, the stairwell is almost hidden, despite the garish purple banner above it. Tucked to the left of the restaurant, you just need to shell out your $5 cover and ascend the wooden staircase to discover one of Tampa's more sophisticated haunts.
