What People Are Saying About Six Tables Tampa

The Scene – It draws its name from the fact that, yes, it really only has six tables. The restaurant does two seatings each night; you are ushered into a single, small room softened with candlelight and a twinkling, lit ceiling. The gowned, dignified hostess makes you feel as if you are the honored guest in a private home. – – The Food – The chef's carefully crafted creations tend to be a nice mix of continental, modern-fusion and French-influenced dishes. It's a "prix fixe" menu--meaning that for a fixed price of $80, the restaurant will serve six predetermined…
Editor's Tips
- This is serious:
- Since the restaurant is so tiny, please make and honor reservations.
- Meet the Chef:
- The chef emerges in his whites to chat with guests.
- Forget the Movie:
- You'll eat for three hours, so don't try to rush out of here.
- Pinellas Locations:
- Visit Six Tables in Largo and Dunedin as well.
Good, not great, and expensive

Six tables has a small, intimate dining room. It is very quiet and good for a romantic date. The food was above average when compared to 90% of the places out there. My problem is that whith the 95$ per person I expected better. I am capable of making just as high quality and exciting cuisine on my own for much less. The service was top notch. Best I've ever encountered.
Perhaps it was my high expectations that spoiled my experience, but for the price, I won't be back.
- Pros: Good selection, top notch service
- Cons: Pricey for what it is
Among Tampa's best

Six tables is unusual, memorable and one of the best restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. Great ambience to take a date or a client that you really want to impress with something different that is in very good taste. Don't be put-off by it's location in a rather dingy little strip shopping center in a non-descript part of town. As you approach the door, you'll wonder if the place is even still in business. Go on in and enjoy. Our dishes were absolutely luscious! I had filet of sole over a bed of risoto with a creamy white sauce that was off-the-charts. I seriously considered picking up my plate and licking it to get every last drop. (Oops, forgot! This place is supposed to be tasteful.) My wife had a superb cumquot glazed breast of duck that was perfectly cooked and not as greasy as duck can sometimes be. An almond mousse with caramel sauce desert for me and a dynamite chocolate mousse for my wife finished us off and left us pining to go back again. The special format of this restaurant is totally charming, Where else can you shake hands with the chef at the end of the meal and give him direct feedback on what you liked best? Where else is the menu a delightful surprise at each visit? Just don't go too often unless you are well-healed. With a medium-priced bottle of wine ($ 50.00) and a 15% tip, the bill comes to about $ 150.00 per person. Unlike some restaurants, (Armani's comes immediately to mind) that are more pretension than substance, Six Tables is worth the price of admission.
- Pros: Food, ambience, unique way of operating
- Cons: Outide appearance of the restaurant
Spectacular. Pampered, Amazing Cuisine, Tastes were divine

Spectacular. This was one of the most fun nights we have had in a long time. Pampering all night long, and the food was delightful. I can not believe how much I ate, and I still wanted more at the end of the night - the wine list caught me by surprise. The wine menu is remarkable for such a small restaurant - my friend dined for a private dinner with the owner of Cakebread Cellars at Six Tables, and I can understand why a vineyard like Cakebread would choose Six Tables for their night in Tampa. This is a very special restaurant - and with Richard and Amy (who was unbelievably kind on the phone!) I am not surprised they have a success!
- Pros: Food was spectacular, Service was impeccable from making reservation to going home.
- Cons: Not open on Sunday

Chef Richard is the best chef in Tampa. He has such a special restaurant, and I love going in, especially for his wine dinners where his talent really shines. I truly believe this restaurant is the best deal in Tampa. You have to see it to believe it.
