What People Are Saying About The Globe Coffee Lounge

The Scene – So what if the floors are painted a bright purple? And the mishmash of garage-sale, '50s-style comfy chairs and tables make it so inviting. The Globe is where the hipsters hang, abetted by its effervescent owner, JoEllen Schilke, who presides over its eccentric denizens. There are tarot readings, poetry readings, music and plenty of conversation. – – The Food – The usual desserts and light meals, American standards and coffee specialties, but they're done well. Homemade is the watchword at The Globe, and you'll find various treats, from the "PMS"…

- Before hitting The Globe, see a show at Jannus Landing.
high prices, poor customer service

The owner was very rude and insisted that all of our group order something, as we had to "pay for our seats." When one of us didn't want anything, she put the ordered drinks in to-go cups and forced us to leave.
Not a fan of high prices and poor customer service. I believe you have to have one or the other in order to get return customers. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.
- Pros: board games, good music
- Cons: poor customer service and VERY expensive

The Globe is one of the rare places where strangers can come together and get to know one another in a completely relaxed and comfortable environment. It's a place for making friends, and it is a place where you will always have company. The interior is covered with art and is beautiful, and the food and drink is always excellent.

Ate here on a rainy afternoon. Great coffee!! So much to choose from! Food hit the spot and the waiters were great.
- Pros: hot, good choices, friendly
- Cons: not in my hometown, too far away from me, not in Texas
