The Scene
So what if the floors are painted a bright purple? And the mishmash of garage-sale, '50s-style comfy chairs and tables make it so inviting. The Globe is where the hipsters hang, abetted by its effervescent owner, JoEllen Schilke, who presides over its eccentric denizens. There are tarot readings, poetry readings, music and plenty of conversation.
The Food
The usual desserts and light meals, American standards and coffee specialties, but they're done well. Homemade is the watchword at The Globe, and you'll find various treats, from the "PMS" cake¿chocolate and candy bars¿to the Jamaican beef patty served atop black beans. In keeping with its mission as a coffeehouse, The Globe also offers a nice assortment of specialty drinks, such as Thai iced coffee, or the cafe choca, house coffee served with hot chocolate cream.

The Globe is one of the rare places where strangers can come together and get to know one another in a completely relaxed and comfortable environment. It's a place for making friends, and it is a place where you will always have company. The interior is covered with art and is beautiful, and the food and drink is always excellent.

it is my home away from home I've made so many new friends there The people that work there always make me feel welcome I love their food I love their sangria I love their coffee.
