First time for everything.. Todays Shells experience was the worst ever. After eating at Shells for ever 14 years today was the worst tasting shrimp pasta I have ever had..The extras sauce that came with it was chewy, smelled foul and had chunks of I have no clue. What really sucked is I bought 2 of them one for today and one for tom. lunch. Thank god the wife was happy with the fish platter and salad... The quality of the food and portions have always been great, but still after 2 hours of eating I still have a bad taste..
Great seafood is back!. Great clam chowder. Really. As of now it is the best I've ever had! Shrimp is good sized and delicious! The fish quality is spectacular, gone are the strange cuts of fish and back are the fresh, well cut portions Shells was known for. (Try the blackened grouper sandwich, so good!) Really glad that things are getting back to how they used to be, welcome back Shells!!!
Everything old is new again. Customer service and freshness seem to be important again. This location is where it all started and ultimately where it may well end. For now, plenty of specials and coupons available. Take advantage while they last. Once was the place for cheap, good seafood in Tampa and it is that way again.
Rockin' Shrimp was ROCKIN!!. We searched high and low for a place to eat dinner and finally settled for Shells. We thought we would be greatly disappointed, but we were wrong! It was amazing!!! We started with the rockin' shrimp for an appetizer and it was the best shrimp all 5 of us have ever had. I don't even like shrimp and I had TWO pieces! We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals as well. They have great combinations of land & sea and reasonably priced for what you get. Highly recommended!!! PS - try the strawberry swirl pina colada if you're in the mood for a drink. Very yummy!
Editorial Review. Seafood restaurant chain offers fresh fish, hand-breaded fried dishes and Maine lobster flown daily; party platters are available.
Not what it us to be. When Shells on Dale Mabry first opened up it was great. But it seems like it has gone down hill. I will not eat there its been a while, the last time I went the portions are small, food not that good. You feel that you are rushed when you dine in. I think John Christian should take it and start over to make like it use to be.
funny story - he has :) come check us out again! - john christen
