Built to funnel away student activities fees, USF's Special Events Center is as generic a performance venue as its name suggests. – Concerts
The bulk of its events are student council-subsidized concerts from national acts like Living Colour and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy that cost students less than $10.
If you're not a student, try to get one to buy your ticket (you need to have a student ID to get the savings), and be prepared to get the full arena security check when you arrive. All tickets are general admission, which means you can worm your way up front no matter when you get to the show. The hall itself is a relatively modern all-concrete structure featuring open and tiered seating in the rear. While utilitarian at best, the Special Events Center is still a bargain in the Bay area.
